Our guests keep coming back because we offer great value and a quality experience in a dynamic neighborhood that is quiet, close to downtown and has many of Montreal’s top restaurants. We start your Montreal experience by offering you a dozen fresh Montreal bagels with cream cheese.

Gallery 2 is in a meticulously restored century old building close to downtown and minutes from the subway (Metro), the Atwater Market and the historic Lachine Canal. An ideal pied-à-terre for anyone that wants to be in one of the most dynamic villages in Montreal. This 2 bedroom second floor unit is bright and sleeps 4 to 6. Finished with hardwood floors, it is spotlessly clean & tastefully decorated with original art, high quality furnishings, linens & appointments throughout. It features a master bedroom with a queen size sleigh bed and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. The den has a sofa with a double pull out bed. Also in the den there is a flat screen TV and a collection of DVD’s from our library of over 100 movies for all ages. The bathroom has a deep tub that will soothe you after a good day of sightseeing and is equipped with a front loading washer & dryer. The dining room is beside the all equipped kitchen with dishwasher that leads out to a very large deck with two patio sets and two BBQ’s (Gallery 1 shares the deck with you). The deck is next to our beautiful rooftop garden. All our units also come stocked with books and board games. Called the GALLERY 2 because this is 1 of 3 units in the building that is located next to Jane's private art gallery & studio next door.

Note that this unit has very steep stairs leading up to the apartment so it is less suitable for the elderly or toddlers.

Our other units in the same building are Gallery 3 (VRBO #193135 and HOMEAWAY #205856) and Gallery 1 (VRBO #211812 and HOMEAWAY #213998)

Good food is just steps away at the deluxe IGA grocery store or the delicious Atwater market where you can savor gourmet foods, pastries and deli style food. If you prefer to eat out, we are a few minutes walking from some of Montreal’s top restaurants (Joe Beef, Tuck Shop, H4C, Smoking Vallee, CHO, McKiernans, Magnans Tavern) or if you prefer a drink in a hip setting there is La Drinkerie, Burgundy Lion, Grumman 78, Ludger.

Aside from fine dining, there are many things to do in this area. Depending on the season, you could catch a hockey game at the Bell Center, go rock climbing at Allez-Up indoor rock climbing gym or rent a kayak and paddle on the Lachine Canal. You can also walk or cycle on the Lachine Canal bike path which is just 15 minutes by bike to the Old Port and Old Montreal. Note that you can leave your bikes at home because we have 6 adult bikes for rent for $5 a day or maximum charge of $20 (includes helmets and locks). For small children there is a nice park with playground and splash pad just one block away.

I always wanted to own a hotel and this about as close as it gets. My wife and I live next door and we enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I also believe that we offer a great value to travelers. We've made our apartments up as if we were renting them ourselves. We pride ourselves on being good hosts and offering you a great stay. Why John Schwinghamer chose Montreal

This is a great area, there are good restaurants and we are very close to the subway system (called Metro) so we can be downtown in minutes. We are also very close to the Atwater market where there is great food and restaurants. We are also minutes from the Canal which has great bike paths and walking areas that lead to the Old Port of Montreal.

We loved everything about this charming apartment! The owner was so easy to deal with, and very accessible to answer all questions. He even took time to install the air conditioner while getting ready to leave the province for his son's wedding! The apartment is immaculate, meticulously maintained and well equipped for everything you need. The outdoor deck and barbecue were a huge bonus, as was the washer and dryer. Beds were very comfortable and the deep soaker tub (with shower) was lovely. The only thing I'd ever add to this great place is a small coffee table in the sitting room - so we could have a place to lay our glass of wine at the end of the day! The location is excellent as well - this was my first visit to Montreal, on a cross-country trip, and it is quite easy to access travelling east on the Trans Canada Highway. It is just around the corner from a Metro stop, which was wonderful to visit all parts of Montreal. Lots of great little restaurants in the area as well - we ate at the Greenspot Diner (good diner food) and The Burgundy Lion Pub (amazing menu! highly recommended). There is also an IGA just up the road, great for supplies. And also quite close to the great Atwater Market, which we really enjoyed visiting. The canal is very nearby also, and is great for walking. We stayed 4 nights in Gallery #2 apartment, and would very definitely return. We highly recommend staying here!

Quiet street in great location!

Great apartment! Very clean and well kept. Many thanks to John and Jane for their warm welcome and supply of fresh Montreal bagels! The owners were always available if needed. Well organized local information and wireless internet on site. Quiet location close to Atwater Market, the Lachine canal, and downtown. Recently renovated and plenty of space for our 16 month old to roam. We visit Montreal often and the apartment was perfect for our family gathering (fully equipped kitchen). We're planning to rent the unit again for upcoming visits.

Lovely and charming

This was our first experience renting a vacation home, so needless to say, we were a little apprehensive at first. However, our apprehension quickly faded when we discovered this property. John and Jane were very professional and courteous both on the phone and through email. When we arrived at the apartment in Montreal, we were greeted warmly with complimentary bagels and cream cheese. The apartment was as clean and charming as it looks in the photos. A definite "home away from home"!! We invited our two little granddaughters to stay with us for a couple of nights and they loved having their own bedroom with a comfy bed each. This beautiful, spacious apartment definitely helped make our Christmas trip to Montreal a most memorable holiday, and we hope to be able to come back often and rent this suite again.

Great Stay!

Bright, airy (and very clean and well-kept) apartment in a quiet neighborhood but close to main drag, Lachine Canal, and Atwater Market. Great apartment for us and our two small children. If travelling with kids under 5, we recommend the colorful playground across from the Metro station. Oh and the gourmet donut shop too!

The place is comfortable, clean and cared for by the owners who live next door. John & Jane were attentive, gracious, meeting us for our late arrival with bagels for the next AM. The place is convenient to Montreal's great Metro system. They have four passable bikes to rent as well. A memorable destination!

Excellent Accommodations

We stayed at the Gallery 2 apartment in September 2014. The apartment was everything that was described and we were very satisified. John and Jane were quick to answer any questions before and during our stay in Montreal. We were greeted upon arrival to Montreal bagels and cream cheese and a walk through and discussion of not only the apartment but of what to do and where to go in Montreal. We found the apartment very clean and up to date. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood and it is a safe building. The subway is easily accessible, a short 5 minute walk, and downtown Montreal is about a 15 minute subway ride. There are lots of great restaurants that offer a lot of variety in food tastes. We highly recommend this apartment, you will not be disappointed.
