New Beachfront Post+beam Cottage, Amazing Sunsets and Just Off Cabot Trail

It was our first visit to Nova Scotia and wanted to stay somewhere not too remote in a house that was pet free, smoke free with WiFi. This fitted the bill and exceeded all our expectations.

The house might be described as 'different', large open plan with 2 bedrooms. The splendid feature was the opening 'door/window' which meant when too hot outside, we could sit inside, and when too cool outside, we could sit inside, but always feel one was in the open. The only slight downside of the design was that the only bathroom is down stairs. Having no TV or music system meant we brought our own music.

The house was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen well equiped. John was also very helpful. When we mentioned that the coffee machine was rather small, a larger one arrived the following day. It was also very nice to meet John and members of his family on a few ocasions in our 2 week stay, and lean more about the area.

The garden is just grass, but a lovely bench down by the beach. We had good weather for almost all of our two weeks and this allowed for many long walks in the National Park.

Cheticamp is a nice town, and the Co-Op had all supplies we needed. There is a NSLC for stronger drinks, and good fish shop near the house for fresh fish, or cooked lobster. We bought 2 lobsters for about $18, very enjoyable.

We were very sad to leave at the end of our stay.

My family and I just stayed here and loved every minute! Beautiful home, beautiful views, fantastic location! We loved opening up the door in the living room when we had good weather and bringing the outside in! The location is very close to the quaint town of cheticamp, but is far enough away to enjoy the solitude. We'd recommend this to everyone and would stay here again without question.

Our vacation at the cottage at Cheticamp was everything we were looking for and more. The cottage itself was very clean, neat and well equipped, but also was very unique and we found this it’s best feature. It is open and bright with windows on all sides and has large door at the front which opens up on the ocean side where it is simply wonderful to sit and relax. Beautiful sunsets.
The cottage feels very private, but is also close to town which is perfect. We explored the beautiful Cabot Trail and did some hiking and relaxed, We highly recommend this cottage. Thanks to John for a wonderful vacation spot.
