Great place, great location

Tradewinds was a terrific house to stay at in it own right, and our family recently rented the two homes next to each other for a luxurious yet large family gathering. Nautilaus next door was a great space for the large gathering, yet Tradewinds was also a beautiful home for our family to feel throughly spoilt in. This enabled us to have a really memorable experience for lots of us in great comfort and style. Thank you

Brilliant, what else can we say?

Tradewinds has everything we need for a family holiday with all the comforts of home and our dog too. After a barbecue dinner around the dining table we snuggled up on the leather lounges, plugged our laptop into the TV and watched a movie while the kids played on the pool table and watched their own movie on the TV downstairs. It's an easy walk to the beach, SteamRanger station, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and pubs, all of which we did. The Anzac Dawn Service at the end of the street was a highlight. Everything was perfectly clean and tidy and exactly as described. It was our second visit and won't be our last. Brilliant.

A consistent, lovely, holiday getaway. 4 1/2 stars

We have stayed at Tradewinds for 3 holiday occasions now and as the review title suggests it is an always consistent and most lovely holiday getaway. The house is filled with large comfortable bedrooms and most importantly 2 living areas where the adults can enjoy their time upstairs and the children downstairs which includes a lovely games room in the garage as well. There is more than enough space in the home for everyone to have their ‘own space’ and with the kitchen as the centerpiece for the upstairs entertaining area it is a real family home. On the holiday apartment row at Henry street, Tradewinds has the best sea view and it was enjoyed every day and night out on the furnished deck. It is extremely central, a quick 2 minute walk to Port Elliot main street where there are many shops as well as many walking tracks around the area which we always enjoy as well. Dogs are welcome which makes the holiday so much more enjoyable because we don’t have to worry about who is looking after him and Wendy and Phil make the holiday experience so family friendly and so enjoyable. I recommend Tradewinds to all families, it really is the best accommodation you will find at Port Elliot and that is why we keep coming back year after year.

Horseshoe Bay is a protected swimming beach which is very popular with families during the long summer holidays. Take time to explore The Strand area with its many historic buildings, cafes, restaurants and shops. Don't forget to sample the wares at the famous Port Elliot bakery!

Crows Nest Lookout

This has to be the best seat in the house. Overlooking Goolwa, Middleton and some of Port Elliot these are some of the best views you will ever see.

Horseshoe Bay

Bring the family to this well known and highly regarded swimming beach. You can fish from the Jetty, watch the kids play in the Playground or go for a swim in this sheltered bay. Why not follow the rugged cliff around the coast and explore the little bays and beaches. Horseshoe Bay has been a favoured destination for visitors to the Fleurieu Peninsula for a long time come and experience this very popular destination.

The Strand

Wander the Strand and you will find yourself moving in and out of craft shops, old buildings and cafes. At the end of The Strand is the mighty Southern Ocean and a viewing point over the beautiful Horseshoe Bay. This is a great spot to view the passing Southern Right Whales in the Winter.
