The Calypso apartment was spotless and equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday. White goods were of a very good quality. The owners were very helpful and provided information that made our stay even better. We have already recommended the apartment to some of our friends. We hope to stay at the Calypso in the near future.

When we purchased Calypso it was chosen as it was across the road from beautiful Horseshoe Bay and had the added advantage of being on the ground floor without stairs making it accessible for older guests, children etc. Calypso is in close proximity to all of the attractions of Port Elliot and is just 50m to the Flying Fish café. All of our homes are spotlessly clean and well maintained for our guests' comfort. We also pride ourselves in offering good old fashioned service including 24 hour telephone support. We look forward to the opportunity of accommodating you again.

The Calypso property was lovely. Nicely decorated and had a great homely feel. As soon as we arrived I regretted not getting a beach view as the location is perfectly situated and so picturesque. Bathroom was modern and furnished. Had everything we needed for a nice night in, although felt a bit clumsy which check in rules for key and having to provide own tea towel, dishcloth and frying pan. Other than that great stay!

Owner's Response: At Calypso we aim to make your stay a home away from home with a hotel feel. We offer a lovely apartment on Horseshoe Bay as an upmarket alternative to local caravan park villas (which in Port Elliot don't have a view either). The guest fell in love with the location and chose this home due to her limited budget. We have her a special price and later departure to enhance her holiday enjoyment. We do own and operate other homes with a seafront view if that is what guests prefer. The check in arrangements are streamlined and modern for beach rentals. There is no posting of keys or picking up from a local shop, as they are located at the house in a key safe and guests phone on arrival for the key safe location and instructions. We do this so that we can talk the guest through opening the key safe and then we know they have their keys and can go straight in easily. We provide many items for use during the stay including dishwasher tablets and soap powder, again a rare thing for holiday home rentals and we do provide tea towels with our full linen service. We do recommend that if guests prefer a non stick frying pan they bring their own. This is because, sadly, so many guests used to cut ours with knives and ruin them most bookings. We do provide a stainless steel frying pan for those who prefer not to take their own. We also offer 24 hour support to our guests so if they have a question or need assistance we are only a phone call away. We look forward to hearing from guests planning their seaside escape (as this guest did prior to her stay) so that we can assist prospective guests to make the best choice of holiday accommodation to suit their circumstances.

Our family has spent our Summer holidays at this gorgeous apartment for 5 years now and we have booked to return for the 6th.

This apartment has the space and the amenities to suit our young family. It is only the shortest stroll away from the beautiful Horseshoe Bay and after a day playing in the sea and on the sand the apartment is a perfect retreat to eat, drink and relax.

My husband & I enjoyed a long weekend in this very comfortable clean & tidy unit, easy walk to eateries & shops, especially to the beach. Lots of good walking & bike riding tracks. Owners very helpful, would recommend.

Why not follow the rugged cliff around the coast and explore the little bays and beaches. Horseshoe Bay has been a favoured destination for visitors to the Fleurieu Peninsula for a long time come and experience this very popular destination.

The Strand

Wander the Strand and you will find yourself moving in and out of craft shops, old buildings and cafes. At the end of The Strand is the mighty Southern Ocean and a viewing point over the beautiful Horseshoe Bay. This is a great spot to view the passing Southern Right Whales in the Winter.

  • The master bedroom has a sunny outlook, baeutiful especially in winter. It has a queen sized bed, bedside tables and wardrobe with hanging space. The twin bedroom looks onto the courtyard and has two single beds. The beds can be converted into a king sized bed on request. There is also a bedside table and wardrobe with hanging space. The single bedroom has one single bed with room also for a cot for baby. There is also a bedside table and wardrobe with hanging space. The beds all have cosy quilts/duvets and extra blankets are provided for your comfort. All bedroom linen is provided in your tariff, for longer stays multiple sets are provided.
