Ruby Bay Retreat is a modern, self-contained home set on an established 5 acre estate. Bathed in sunshine, the property is set high on a cliff with spectacular expansive views of the sea from Ruby Bay to D’Urville Island and mountains surrounding Tasman Bay.

It features an expansive garden, an extensive, diverse organic home orchard, mature trees that attract native birds and a wonderful open space with grassed paddocks and native trees - such peaceful surroundings in a rural setting. This is a sanctuary for inspiration and renewal.

Ruby Bay Retreat is ideal for couples, or a group of four. It provides contemporary country living in a comfortable, warm home. This accommodation features a large living and dining space that opens onto verandas, for all-day sun and outdoor living. It has a fully equipped, modern designer kitchen, outdoor gas barbeque and the two bedrooms with sea or garden vistas are comfortable and sunny.

Ruby Bay in the Moutere District.

The Nelson Region experiences year round warm dry weather and is renowned for experiencing the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand. The local economy is based on resources like horticulture, fishing and forestry. There are three great National Parks in the area the closet being the world famous Abel Tasman National Park which is a true coastal paradise with stunning golden sand beaches and turquoise waters.

There is great seafood, and the local cafés and brewery at the Mapua wharf with waterfront dining beside the largest estuary in the South Island. There are numerous wineries, cafes and arts and crafts galleries in the Moutere District. Enjoy outdoor activities such as sea kayaking, walks, tandem ski diving, mountain biking, cycling along cycle trails, river rafting, fly fishing and sailing. You can book a helicopter ride to the more wild and scenic landscapes, charter a boat for fishing in the Able Tasman Park or the Marlborough Sounds. In winter there is snowboarding and sking at Rainbow ski field. All equipment can be hired and guided tours arranged for all these activities in the Nelson area.
