DOMUS AGNESE is located in central Rome, on the ground floor of a beautiful and quiet building of the nineteen-forties, in a residential area that faces the monumental complex of S. Agnese fuori le Mura.

Going through the small private patio, one enters the elegant guesthouse, furnished in an original and sober style, consisting in 3 mini apartments GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE, all independent with security doors, air conditioning,central heating, fully equipped kitchens, TV SAT LCD and Digital TV.

FOR FAMILY OR SMALL GROUP, thanks to its flexibility, it's possible to use the Guesthouse as one BIG APARTMENT with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen corners and the private garden, that can so accommodate up to 8 people: ACCOMODATION OPTION 'CRYSTAL', or to combine two apartments (Gold & Silver) with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen corner, for 4 to 6 guests: ACCOMODATION OPTION 'PLATINUM'.

Monumental complex of St. Agnese: From the guesthouse are visible the ruins of the ancient Constantinian Basilica of S.Agnese. built from 337 to 351 A.D. for the will of Costantia, emperor Costantine's daughter and devotee of Agnese, stands nearby the catacombs where the young martyr was buried. The Basilica is part of the monumental complex of St. Agnese fuori le mura, with the catacombs, the Mausoleum of Constantia and the present-day Basilica of St. Agnese, which was erected from 625 to 638 d.C., and whose mosaic within, represents one of the most important example of byzantine art in Rome.

Roman Roads: One of the entrances to the Basilica of S. Agnese fuori le Mura is on Via Nomentana, an ancient and very important Roman consular road that once began at the Porta Nomentana in the Aurelian walls e went north-east to Nomentum.

At the present time the road starts at Porta Pia, about a hundred meters from the ancient entrance to the city, which was designed by Michelangelo and constructed by Pope Pio IV, and which was also theatre of the Seizure of Rome that in 1870 declared the end of the State of the Church and it’s annexing to the Kingdom of Italy.

This consular road was the favorite road of the roman nobility who transformed ancient rural houses and estates into their mansions just outside the city walls.

The most famous of these is Villa Torlonia, a beautiful public park that owes its particular charm to the originality of its garden that is disseminated with constructions commissioned by the Torlonia family to famous architects,

Nous avons séjourné 8 jours chez Manuela dans l'appartement Silver. Nous avons été reçu très cordialement. Manuela avait préparé pour nous un plan et nous a indiqué toutes les visites à faire. Elle nous a même aidés pour une réservation. Le studio est très confortable et nous n'avons manqué de rien. Il est situé à quelques mètres d'une station de métro qui nous emmène à la gare de Termini. Un séjour très agréable grace à Manuela; une adresse à recommander.

We stayed in the guesthouse for four nights and it was lovely. We appreciated the hospitality of Manuela very much. She recommended an Italian restaurant just around the corner for our first night in Rome. Delicious. The rest of our stay was also very pleasant, no noise during the night and the room had all the facilities we needed.

We had a wonderful stay

Me and my wife stayed in the silver apartment/studio for 5 nights. We were greeted by the owner Manuela, who walked us through the studio and where things are and how they are operated. We had bottled water in the fridge, carton of milk and orange juice as well as a breakfast basked filled with various biscuits and croissants and selection of tea and coffee.
The guest house is comprised of three self contained studios. The one e stayed in, the Silver one, had separate shower/toiled, large closed with plenty coat hangers, digital TV with SKY TV, WiFi, Radio/CD/MP3 player DVD player, kitchenette with electric stove, fridge and microwave.
Manuela gave us detailed information of how to get about the city and recommended places to eat close to the apartment, explained where local shops are as well as where to get bargains in Rome.
Even though this is not a hotel, the breakfast basked was refiled every day, towels were changed and room kept clean at all times and all this with added benefit of not having to be tied down to a schedule set by a hotel.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay, with a wonderful host and would highly recommend Domus Agnese for stay in Rome.

We were hugely impressed by the guest house and the owner Manuela. The Silver apartment was tastefully decorated and made us feel like home. Its clean and all the detail to a very high standard.

Great start to our trip through Italy!

I can’t say enough positive things about this little gem of a studio in Rome and about Manuela, the owner. I was hesitant to reserve a place with a sofa sleeper but we found it to be extremely comfortable. The apartment is very charming, clean, and has special touches that make coming home after a long day of tours a pleasure. Manuela was absolutely amazing. She spent time with us at check-in going over how to use the various keys to get into the gate, building, and apartment, transportation from the area to the sites in Rome, restaurant recommendations, location of supermarkets, and pointed out all the nuances of the apartment. She has thought of everything! There was milk and OJ, pastries, coffee, tea, S&P, and other staples to help us get started. Manuela was quick to respond to our texted questions throughout our stay and kept us informed of when she would meet us for check out and return our deposit to us. We enjoyed the location of the apartment because it has a local feel to it. After a day of tours and milling along side thousands of people it was a joy to return to the quiet neighborhood of S. Agnes. The metro underground entrance is about a half a block away and it took us less than 10-15 minutes to get anywhere in the city. We would highly recommend staying at Manuela’s apartments. We also reserved the transportation from the airport from her and were surprised to be picked up by a charming gentleman in a black Mercedes. He drove through the heart of Rome and pointed out the sights along the way. It was a great start to a trip and relieved any stress of trying to find the apartment after our long 14 hr plane trip.
