Photos and Description of this Cardona holiday villa

Casa La Viña is a traditional Catalan country house with room for 13+2 guests

This magnificent 250m2 country home La Viña has room for 13+1. Casa La Viña is a beautifully restored house, privately situated in the middle of an agricultural and forested area in the Montmajor´s municipality with a small stream nearby and with the Pyrenees in the background. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, the sunsets and a dip in the swimming pool. The house has seven rooms distributed in three floors and the entire 250m2 has been decorated with style: You will find 7 bedrooms in La Viña: Three marriage rooms, two double rooms, two individual rooms and one single room.On the ground floor there is a hall, a double room, a bathroom, a beautiful dining room, with access to the large garden and the terrace and a living room with plasma screen. On the terrace there is an outdoor-kitchen. At the first floor there is the open kitchen connected with another dining room with chimney and another living room with fireplace.

Catalonia, Spain: Catalonia, Spain has a distinct regional identity that borrows little form the rest of Spain. Catalans have their own language, and are intensely proud of their unique art, cuisine, folklore and long history. Ask the Catalans themselves and many will tell you that Catalonia is not a region but a nation. Not surprisingly, rivalry between the Catalans and the rest of Spain is an ongoing part of this country's history.

Catalans pride themselves on good eating too, and you will find some of Spain's finest restaurants here. Catalan food is typically Mediterranean, featuring olive oil as its staple component. As the region is so geographically diverse, it provides a variety of fresh high quality meat, poultry, game, seafood, fruit and vegetables and a great variety of wild mushrooms.

All in all Catalonia offers no end of opportunities for day trips and adventures, that together with its excellent communications, makes of Catalonia a top-class tourist destination in Europe.

Central Catalonia: Central Catalonia is situated where the Llobregat-river winds it is way from the Pyrenees down towards Barcelona. It is not heavily populated, and in the small town and villages you blend in with local life. The region is ideal for families or groups, who want a diversified vacation.

The landscape at the entrance to the Pyrenees is dominated by small rivers, hills, fields and forest. From almost any point, you have view to the steep Pyrenees that raise in the distance, probably some of the most beautiful mountains of the world. The area provides excellent conditions for a variety of sports- and outdoor activities, such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, angling, canoeing, river crafting or perhaps a visit to the owners farm.

Central Catalonia is situated in 400-800 metres altitude and has more than 300 sunny days on a year. If you visit the region in the spring or the autumn, most days will be pleasant, with temperatures from 18-25 degrees in the day time.

Activities: Finally Catalonia offers a wide range of activities to suit all ages and levels of fitness: Skiing (in winter), swimming, horse back riding, cycling, hiking, golfing, ... there are endless possibilities.

We offer a vacation in your particular pace, where you blend in with the open-minded and friendly Catalans. Enjoy the silence in the small hills in the pre-Pyrenees. Enjoy sports and outdoor activities as walking, canoeing, beach life at the Costa Brava Coast or mountain biking. Or scamper about in the lively street- and café life in the Catalan towns. which together with its excellent communications, makes of Catalonia a top-class tourist destination in Europe.

Or how about watching a football match along with 98.917 other spectators on FC Barcelona's legendary Camp Nou ? The best advise is to come to Catalonia, Spain and see for yourself.

In this part of Catalonia is also plenty of great beaches - at the Costa Brava Coast.

The region Berguedá where the house is situated, where the Llobregat river makes its way from the Pyrenees down towards Barcelona. The landscape is hilly and the altitude is 500-600 metres above sea-level. Although very popular as weekend retreat for people from Barcelona, the region has not a lot of tourism. When you are on vacation here, you simply blend in and participate in the local life in the villages and towns in the area.

In the village Montmajor 6 km. away, you will find a bakery a small grocery shop a bar and a restaurant. The two small towns Gironella and Puig Reig are situated on the bank of the Llobregat river. Here, you find several restaurants, shops and smaller supermarkets. They are both very lively towns, but be aware of the siesta. The regional capitol is Berga, which is a big town with 20.000 inhabitants. Here, you find a charming town centre with walking street and Rambla, shops, restaurants and cafés, and in the outskirts, there are some big supermarkets.
