Tulamben: On the east coast of Bali is the most well-known dive destination Indonesia's. Tulamben became famous through the wreck of U.S.S.Liberty, a cargo ship from the Second World War, that lies about 30 meters from the rocky beach in 5m-30m depth. There is almost no flow and the visibility is usually 20 m-30 m. Very impressive is also a night dive at the wreck. Approx. 500 meters next to the wreck you can dive in 'Coral Garden' or 'drop off'. Mainly for macro friends the Coral Garden offers a lot of highlights. There are Ghostmurane, cleaner shrimp, groupers, Harlekinschrimps etc. The drop off is a nice covered wall from 3 to 60 m deep. With the dive site 'Batu Kelebit' this area has probably the very best diving area of Bali. Because Tulamben is the darkest area of Bali, there are best conditions for Astronomers. Moreover Tulamben is a good starting point to the many other attractions to explore Bali.
