Lamole is situated in a beautiful position, 600 meters a.s.l., in the heart of Chianti, the most pure region of Tuscany, only 8 km from Greve in Chianti. Entirely hilly, harsh and soft, covered in serried rows of wines interspaced by olive groves and lines of cypresses. The light is astounding: on clear days you can see forever, on misty days the colours and the objects are seen as through a veil and one feels leaving in a Renaissance landscape in peace and beauty. Here was the setting for the film of Shakespeare’s Much Ado about Nothing. PodRidaldi, an ancient farmhouse, is a garden patio along a rose garden and big open spaces immersed in the vineyards and in the iris fields (in flower in may), witch are said to give its very special bouquet to the Chianti wine. The house is along side a winding country lane, too narrow for much traffic. The windows views are stunning in every direction. There are immense estate lands to walk through the ancient soil terrace, the woods the vineyard.

Chianti-region: This region is absolutely dreamy, one of the most famous regions, you have to know the heart of Chianti, the vine, the landscape, the small roads with olives and cypresses in this magic atmosphere.

Further info: The area of Lamole dates back to the Middle Age present owners, both university professors and keen gardeners, are established here since 50 years; they use part of the house themselves in the summer. The place is well cared for. With comfortable old-fashioned and antiques furniture, in a special, pleasant leaved-in atmosphere. The windows views are stunning in every direction. There are immense estate lands to walk through the ancient soil terrace, the woods, and the vineyards.

  • The house is composed of the entrance with some steps up in open dining room where there is a big table and where is situated also the kitchen, of a small cloak room with washing machine basin bidet and WC. Up stairs there is a wide sitting room (with guest sofa bed), double bedroom, twin bedroom, shower bathroom with double basin bidet WC. All rooms are large with old terracotta-tiled floors. Central heating, TV at your disposition.

A lovely holiday

Lamole was a lovely place to stay, quiet and peaceful. The house was clean, well-equipped and comfortable and the terrace was great for barbequeing, or just sitting watching birds and wild life. There were deer and foxes down in the vineyard and one day a stone marten (un faino) wandered through the garden completely ignoring us - amazing!! We didn't bring a car but the mini bus took us to Greve on the few times we wanted to go any distance, e.g. Firenze, Fiesole, etc. One day we walked to Greve, another day to Volpaia, through the woods to Panzano, up to Monte San Michele - all great walks. If you are into nature photography it is a fantastic place for butterflies. Local people are very kind and helpful and praised my stumbling Italian (which greatly improved during our two week stay). And of course we must mention the restaurant where we had the best meal of our whole holiday.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Romantic Getaway
