Photos and Description of this Florensac holiday guest house
At the heart of Languedoc Roussillon in an authentic and magnificent setting

Imagine a lovely house with character, typical, authentic and genuine...4 separate units on one side around a beautiful stone staircase, 2 other places and a few shared areas...There are some geckos on the walls during the hot summer evenings, the singing of the birds in the blue sky of the garden and a few guitar chords in the air...and the voice of Guilhem telling us his stories, his past, Provence, the wine, his life, his passions...

And in the surroundings the Etang de Thau, the sea, never really far, the omnipresent vines, the cicadas shrilling, the thyme perfume, the colours of the Garrigue, the Salagou lake, the Petite Camargue and the Larzac...the various landscapes of Herault, its impressive heritage, its cultural treasures: gastronomy, wine, and lifestyle, etc.

All the pleasures of discovery, the hikes, the outdoor activities, water in all its forms - sea, pond, lake, river, caves - and the sun, with the accent, of course...

Ideal for family or group holidays: Our house is really unique and particular. It has several buildings dispatched around the garden.

Several different combinations are possible for groups of 2 to 20 persons in 4 semi-detached houses.

Electricity is paid following the consumption: €0.25/kw

Some covered areas, a patio, a courtyard, a garden full of small corners...

The opportunity for a dynamic and convivial discovery of the wine world and of oenology, on the land: Herault is the archetypal wine region of France, the one where everything started, during the Greek era...

A wine producer and a teacher will guide you from a distance for the unique discovery of this thousand years old world that comes back at the forefront with sublime products...a real global introduction, at the heart of our wine-producing region, you will finally understand the whole process to create this mythical product and you will discover it its real production setting...

A regional association is also at your service to make you discover better the vine and wine's world with exceptional wine tourism tours ...and some wine tasting introductions evenings with dinner (starter, main dish, cheese, and dessert)

And let's not forget the extremely good local restaurant: the Bistrot d'Alex, where you will enjoy a gastronomic lunch and some reduced prices for the wines...

and the fish farm by the pond to savour the Etang de Thau's productions...

More discovery or exploration advices of the Languedoc and its culture: Do not loose any more time searching and do not miss the essential: we help you choose your destinations and discoveries depending on your tastes and passions...A spontaneous help is proposed, we will unveil a few secrets of this multifaceted region, a real civilisation junction, which has real landscape and heritage treasures.

Because, yes, we can say it is one of the regions of France with the most varied landscapes... Therefore, some geologists called their books 'Herault, mirror of earth'...

We can find in a small area all types of landscapes:

White sand beaches, divided beaches or volcanic beaches,

Ponds (Thau, Or, Arnel, and a few others),

Lakes (Salagou, etc.)

Alluvial plains,

Hillsides,

Carved valleys,

Garrigues,

Plateaux and limestone plateaux (Larzac),

Cirques: created by rivers (the Vis in Navacelle), or dolomitic (Moureze, Montpellier le Vieux),

Caves (Claouse, Demoiselles, Arbeil, etc.),

Mountain (Cevennes and the Aigual, Montagne Noire, the Pyrenees not far away).

The Heraults kept marks from almost all the past civilisations and eras:

We are the French department which has the most megaliths (often small than in Brittany, but not always...) : dolmens (Pouget, Coste Rouge...there are more than 365), menhirs...

neolithic accommodations (the village of Cambous),

Greek sites (Agde and its archaeological remains),

Celtic (oppidums: Enserune, etc.),

Roman (the bridge between Saint-Thybery and Florensac, the Domitian way called here the 'Chemin de la Reine Juliette' even if we all forgot who is Juliette), ancient mines (Fontes), Beziers and its hidden remains...

Medieval age: circular villages, churches, abbeys, Cathar Castles (Minerve, etc.), Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert,

the renaissance era...

The 17th century with the superb town of Pezenas and its particular barns, capital of the Languedoc at that time, to discover at night in summer for the Mirondelles, Montpellier, the dynamic city, and its private mansions,

the Canal du Midi, proud of its 9 locks listed at the World Cultural Heritage, its canal bride in Beziers, its round lock in Agde, its particular tunnel in Malpas...

The 18th century extravagance around Montpellier,

its 19th century castles, the beautiful villas of Grau d'Agde,

the harbour of Setes, jeune demoiselle, the Venice of Languedoc, and the resort cities of the 20th century, la Grande Motte, the Cap d'Agde, Rochelongue, etc.

Let's not forget the thousands of small treasures to discover: the fruits, the shells, the gastronomy, the avant-garde sectors are often unexpected, the writers, the singers, the artists, or even a druid in the Aude or a hermit in Saint-Guilhem...people from Languedoc are friendly nature, he only wants to share his sun, the sea, his passions, his memory and his secrets...and even his accent!

For surprising holidays, rich, authentic, and customized...

With moreover the unique conviviality of a real bed and breakfast: the garden in summer and the large living room in any seasons are often the setting of nice improvised chats between renters coming from all the horizons...Each one goes down the stairs spontaneously when he wants to, with a cup of coffee, a teapot or a wine bottle...or he will be attracted by the smell of a coffee flambé, a punch or a sangria...
