Great apartment in a great location
We really loved staying here and would recommend it for certain types of travellers.
There were three of us travelling together - myself, my 12-year old daughter and my friend. We looked a long time for apartments to rent as we needed 3 beds. What makes this apartment great is that there is one bedroom with a queen sized bed plus there are 2 sofa beds, which are very comfortable. There is also a divider that makes one of the beds into a separate bedroom. The photos are an accurate reflection. The apartment was spotlessly clean, with beautiful linens and comfy pillows and blankets. It has good views of the city and is so high up it gets wonderful breezes.
Rue des Martyrs is a wonderful street to stay on. The apartment is in a complex off the main street by a few feet so remains largely quiet (another big plus). The 9th arrondissement is fantastic. I've stayed in Paris several times before but never in this area. I would highly recommend it - a fromagerie (cheese shop) across the street, a boulangerie (bakery & for fresh baguette) a few shops away plus Carrefour and Monoprix (larger grocery stores) within walking distances. Buses and Metro are easy to find too.
With the company, Placestobe, Arthur was easy to deal with and very helpful. We had a late train ride on our checkout day and we were allowed to keep our luggage with them for the day.
There are two downsides to the apartment. There is a small elevator for transporting 2 people at a time or a lot of luggage. For us, we didn't mind going up and down the stairs. But if mobility is an issue, this might not be the right place for you. The second downside is that the toilet compartment is separate and small. It worked well for us three women but I don't think a very large person would fit. The shower and rest of the bathroom is quite large though.
