This well maintained Villa offers complete privacy with exclusive use of the swimming pool, boule court, garden, patio & terrace. The accommodation comprises of a large open plan lounge including TV, DVDs, WIFI broadband (free), CD-radio, games & books adjacent to a well appointed kitchen complete with fridge-freezer, gas hob, microwave, oven/grill, double sink, dishwasher and washing machine plus a full supply of china, cutlery, glasses etc. There is a large table for dining within the kitchen area. There is a separate toilet/basin downstairs and a bath/shower/toilet/bidet/basin upstairs and 1 twin and 2 double bedrooms. The garden is furnished with sun loungers plus outdoor dining facilities, barbecue & a shady bench/ parasol for very hot days. The views from the property are stunning with views from Antibes to the hills behind Monaco. Nice airport and the coast are a 20 minute drive away. The pretty hill village centre of St Jeannet is a 1 km walk and within 10 kms are St Paul and Vence.

St. Jeannet is very picturesque without being overwhelmed by tourists. It is a 1km walk to the village centre from the villa. The village has local shops, a few bars and restaurants, a pharmacy and a newsagent stocking English papers. From St. Jeannet, there is a regular bus service to Cap 3000 (Galleries Lafayettes and restaurants at Atoll Beach) and to Vence. From the bottom of the hill, there is a bus service to Nice and Grasse. From Nice airport, it takes about 25 minutes to reach Villa Hardy by car. There are an amazing number of interesting places to visit within 30 minutes drive including  wonderful French villages such as Tourettes, Gourdon, Vence, St. Paul de Vence, Valbonne, Biot, Mougins and Riviera coastal resorts including Antibes, Nice, Cannes, Beaulieu-sur-mer, Cap Ferrat and Villefranche. Slightly further afield one can visit Monte Carlo, Menton, Italy (Ventimiglia market on Fridays and San Remo), Auron/Isola 2000 ski slopes, St Tropez and the Grand Canyon of Verdon.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (British Pound) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes

  • On arrival, a security deposit of 200 Euros (or £150) will be required to safeguard against damages, breakages etc. This will be returned in full at the end of the stay providing there are no breakages or damage. When making the reservation, 400 Euros (or £300) should be paid to secure the reservation. The balance is due at least 30 days before the rental commences. For cancellations received more than 30 days before arrival, the 400 Euros (or £300) are retained by the owners. For cancellations received less than 30 days before arrival, no refund of rental fees is made. The rental rates include a clean at the end of the rental, maintenance of the pool/garden (June - September), electricity, gas and provision of bed linen. Arrival and departure dates are usually Saturday-Saturday but the owners try to be flexible. Because of the low balcony, the property is not really suitable for toddlers. Please contact the owners for special offers and last minute discounts and winter availability
  • We STRONGLY recommend that all renters have travel insurance that covers them for accidents and damage to property. Health insurance is also advised as well as being in possession of an European Health insurance card.
  • Please contact the owners regarding the suitability of the villa for young children and if you wish to bring a pet with you.

Notes: The Villa is not really suitable for young toddlers because of a low balcony (1 metre) on the mezzanine floor and a steep drop off the edge of the garden. The swimming pool is surrounded by secure gating to comply with recent French legislation aimed at reducing pool accidents. There are some additional private rooms in the property that remain locked and unoccupied during rental periods. The owner’s representative meets renters on arrival and departure and gives an emergency contact number. A weekly visit is also made to maintain the garden and ensure cleanliness of pool. There is a phone/fax on the premises that can accept incoming calls only. There is free wireless broadband available. Cleaning is done on changeover days and is included in the rental price.

Peace and tranquility in the south of France !

The villa is situated in a quiet oasis above the coast. The lovely old village centre of st Jeannet is only about a ten minute walk. As the villa is at about 450 Metres above sea level, the views are spectacular. The villa is exactly as described on the booking website and we were very comfortable there. A car is necessary as there are so many picturesque villages to visit , Gordon, st Paul, but, Venice etc.
But if you are lazy, the villa faces south and gets sun all day so it is ideal to simply sunbathe. The atmospheric pizzeria in the old village offers the best pizzas I have tasted.
All in all, I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa for a relaxing holiday !

generally a good villa in a beautiful location with views down to the sea. It is a 30 drive down to Nice but the local villages have shops and restaurants. The owners were very helpful and easy to deal with. The beds need improving though if I was to stay again. The double on the ground floor is a metal bed that squeaks and rattles so I moved out of it after 1 night and the second double upstairs is in a room with only a skylight and sloping ceiling. Bizarrely the best bedroom which has a terrace balcony is set up with 2 single beds. This should be the master double room and the skylight room the "kids twin" room.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

We had a lovely 2 weeks at the property at St Jeannet, The property was clean, well maintained and it is a good base to get to the Riviera resorts like Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Monaco even Italy !

Beautiful surroundings, lovely local villages. The little restaurant in the Place de L'eglise in La Gaude was wonderful (they don't take credit cards !) Great food ! You must book if you want to go there on Friday nights ! But do try it for lunch too !

The only down side of the property (although it's only our opinion) is that if you go with children (ours are aged 7-11) it may have been nice to have some TV channels, there is a TV but no channels, but the kids survived !

Pool was great ! and the kids loved it ! Plenty of books and games to keep us all occupied in the evenings.

We had a good rest, and a great holiday !

We had a wonderful holiday in St Jeannet last June and would love to return again this year. The location was just what we wanted; a typical French hilltop village about 1 kilometre away BUT also the cosmopolitan Riviera attractions an easy drive. So we were able to stay in the villa when we just wanted to relax by the pool,drink some wine and play boule but we could also drive to Cannes, Nice and Monaco on the 3 days when we felt more energetic. The views from the property towards the sea are superb and we also climbed to the top of the nearby Baou from where we could see Corsica. We ate in the Chantegrille restaurant in the village and also found a couple of excellent friendly restaurants in nearby Vence. The interior of the villa was clean and comfortable; there was no TV (but there was a DVD player and DVDs) or airconditioning but we knew that in advance and we guess the price reflected that. We would recommend, with the proviso that a rental car would be desirable to get the most out of the surrounding area (there are so many places to visit).
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
