Throughout the year you can follow in a 1/2 hour the remains of the Roman aqueduct at Pont du Gard. In summer you can swim, canoe and climb. Saturday visit in Uzes one of the most beautiful markets in France, and the lively street cafés invite you to an aperitif. Pentecost Feria in Nimes is noise, but you should not forget about the Roman amphitheater and the Temple of Augustus. Romp in the Camargue flamingos, bulls and horses and the sea beckons for swimming. In the near Cevennes you walk away from the hustle and bustle on foot or by donkey through the mountains and forests, and perhaps stayed in one of the many gites, where in the evening waiting for a good meal. On the other side of the Rhone Choregies in the ancient theater of Orange are a great musical event. The Pope's Palace and the Bridge at Avignon much sung are worth a visit in August and the world-famous theater festival the city is a must.
