Meze is a traditional and pretty quiet fishing village in southern France, and is surrounded by vineyards and the Etang de Thau, which is an enclosed lagoon with direct access to the Mediterranean waters. It is a stronghold of the mussel and oyster farming and provides an important sporting and cultural life. Meze is a center for environmental research Ecosite (protection of the lagoon, water treatment ...).
The family-friendly sandy beaches are monitored in summer and ideal for small children as there are hardly any waves. The water quality is monitored weekly. The climate is Mediterranean: mild winters, warm pleasant summers, relatively little rainfall and sunshine pure! Worth seeing is the old town is sold with large weekly market (Thursdays and Sundays), and the daily indoor market where local produce and fish.
