Smart 2 bedroom apartment in central Cascais, sleeps 4, charming old-town area

Refurbished in Jan 2011! This is a great first-floor apartment in central Cascais, in a charming old-town neighbourhood. The master bedroom is exceptionally spacious and bright, with a comfortable double bed and cable TV. The cosy second bedroom has two single sofa beds and French doors with a view to the square. The living room has ample sofa space, and a flat-screen TV with full cable package. There's a compact but fully kitted-out kitchen with all mod cons (including washing machine, dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and toastier-maker) and plenty of cooking equipment and crockery for those cosy nights in. Through the kitchen to the rear of the apartment is the dining area, with large picture windows to let the sun flood in. For a relaxing coffee in the morning there's a café just below the apartment, and a small grocery / bakers shop across the road.

Great place to stay in Portugal

We had one of the best holidays ever here . The unit was very spacious and clean with one of the biggest bedrooms in Europe we have stayed in .The bed was big and very comfortable.A great bonus is the second bedroom /reading room.This would be a nice unit for a family of four. The kitchen had all we needed plus a surprise for Europe a dishwasher . the A/c worked well but we hardly needed it as the nights were pleasant and we slept with the windows open. The location was good five minutes or so to the beach ,train station and Jumbo supermarket were you can anything from a swimsuit to a coffee and pastry.The market again five minutes away is a must its held Sat and Wed mornings 800 am to 100pm the fresh produce and cheeses .eggs and if you want really fresh fish do go there.A word of caution cash is king all the transit fares trains and buses require cash, markets to.The restaurants in Cascais are excellent and competitive most take credit cards.Getting there from the airport is very easy the subway is good if you dont have a lot of luggage but we found the aerobus better as there was no stairs to deal with .This bus goes direct to Cais Do Sodre the train station to take you to Cascais which is the last stop. .Cascais is a beautiful town lots to see and do there .We spent three weeks and could have stayed longer.An added bonus you can get to Sintra direct from here.Sintra is a must see we took two trips there try the Ginja cherry liqueur in the choclate cup its a must.muito obrigado Guilherme see you again

Cozy apt. perfect for family of four.

This cozy apartment was perfect for a family of four. The owner met us upon our arrival and oriented us to the area. The kitchen and the apartment were well-stocked. If there were any issues that needed attention, the owner was a phone call away.

The apartment is one flight up on a mostly quiet street with on-street parking available. Easy walk to the beach, train station, and restaurants.

EXCELLENT SEJOUR

Très bel appartement, très bien équipé et très propre.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet appartement très bien situé, à quelques minutes de marche du centre, de la plage et des restaurants.
Accueil parfait de Guilherme, très attentif au bien être de ses hôtes.
L'appartement est très agréable et lumineux et d'une propreté remarquable. Rien ne manque, nous y retournerons sûrement !!

Lovely apartment

We found this apartment satisfied all our needs,in fact the kitchen had a plentiful supply of crockery and utensils,it was a real home from home.The coffee shop beside the apartment made perfect coffee and had lovely staff,the Sicilliano and Il Viltario restaurants close by were excellent.They are off some side streets near the apartment and are better value than the restaurants in the main square.The park is 2 minutes walk and the centre of Cascais is approx 7-10 mins.Guilherme is an excellent owner and the previous reviews are accurate in his friendliness and attention to his clients.

Cascais apartment

Could not fault this apartment. Clean, tidy, everything you could possibly need and more. Interesting location in residential area meant that there was always something going on, and made for an interesting stroll to the town and beaches. Guilherme welcomed us at midnight and made it clear that nothing would be too much trouble should we need any help. He had provided a welcome basket of bread, butter, jam, fruit & wine, which was very welcome, given our late arrival. The indian restaurant down the road was superb and the supermnarket over the road provided the basics with a smile. Would definately stay here again.

This great apartment is really well located in the charming town of Cascais, within walking distance of many attractions and amenities. It's in the centre of town, overlooking a quiet square, near a multitude of cafés, restaurants, shops and parks. A choice of sandy beaches awaits you within a few minutes walk, including the main bay where you can watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch, and a short drive away is the world famous windsurfing beach of Guincho. Locally you can visit the Cultural Centre, various museums, Citadel fort, marina, lighthouses, Estoril casino, Boca do Inferno, or just wander through the quaint cobbled streets and soak up the atmosphere. Half an hour by car or bus lies the world heritage site of Sintra, where you can visit many beautiful places, including the magical Pena Palace and Moorish Castle, nestled in the mountain forest. A scenic 35 minute train journey along the coast also makes this an ideal base for exploring the beautiful city of Lisbon.

  • The master bedroom contains a very comfortable double bed, mirrored dressing table, chest of drawers, and built-in wardrobe. There is a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with cable channels. This room is very spacious, and could easily fit a baby's cot or travel bed (travel cot on request). The large windows mean that the room is very sunny, although the exterior shutters enable full blackout when you want to get a really good night's sleep. The second bedroom contains a single sofabed which has a second pull-out bed underneath (with legs to bring it up to the same height). Both are comfortable, with proper mattresses of 80 or 84cm wide. This room could be used as a quiet reading room instead, if the beds are not required. The view is over the square to the front of the property.
