This location is truely unique and idyllic. set in woodland beside a beautiful creek.we felt a million miles way from the hustle and bustle of every day life,and yet we were just a short boat ride or walk away from delightful coast,scenery ,shops and eateries stuffed with local produce
Our welcome was warm from the manager who even before we arrived had efficiently,promptly(and patiently!) answered several questions that we had via e mail.on arrival Ruth gave us a wealth of additional information regarding history of the mill ,the many musicians that recored there, te times and the locality.
The sawmills itself was spotlessly clean,well maintained and had everything we could possibly have needed .
we were so relaxed after our stay,it was the perfect retreat,and a real treat!
We are so looking forward to returning

My family had a fantastic holiday staying here at the Sawmills Lodge. We were given a very friendly welcome by the manager Ruth who then boated us and our luggage down the river Fowey. We went under the railway bridge and what a stunning hideaway and location. The Lodge itself has its own private garden and is very well equipped, like home from home. We couldn't resist lighting the log burning stove in the evenings. The children had tremendous fun on the canoes in the creek and most definitely did not want to leave. We had some lovely walks into the nearby town of Fowey, to get essentials and to wander the great shops and public houses. The nearby village of Golant has an excellent pub, the Fishermans Arms who were also very welcoming. The accommodation is brilliant and in a truly peaceful setting. Never a dull moment and so much to enjoy for all ages. If looking to holiday in Cornwall I couldn't think of anywhere better to recommend with the nearby beautiful beaches, walks and Eden Project, we will most definitely be returning this year.

We loved this place, a true getaway spot.
The location was beautiful, away from the beaten track, peaceful, on the waters edge which is tidal, there is wildlife only as neighbours.
You need to be reasonably fit to really enjoy the location and walk out to the local villages, views are fabulous.
The Lodge, clean, fully equipt, amazing bathroom, lovely. It was just the two of us and the dog, perfect size for easy maintainance whilst your there.
Ruth is lovely, friendly, welcoming and helpful.
We loved it so much that we are going back for our honeymoon.
