Recently renovated apartments (4) with modern architecture in an old building, in the heart of Oporto, with the Douro River and the wine cellars of Porto on its feet. Upon arrival you will feel the comfort of a real home prepared specially for your needs.

The apartments are located in an iconic building 2 min walk from the famous Ribeira with its restaurants, bars and boat trips, 2 min from the cathedral and 7 min from São Bento station.

Porto - must be visited:: Porto has an excellent new airport (received ACI Airport Service Quality awards last year) and several companies operating. Ryanair established recently a hub. Airport is connected to the city centre by Metro. One of the oldest cities in Europe, Porto has enjoyed World Heritage classification since 1996. Perched on the banks of river Douro, one of its six bridges was designed by Gustave Eiffel, whose signature touch is immediately recognised. Along these very banks, visit the iconic cellars and discover more than 30 Port wine labels, most of which are world-famous. Within the town of Porto itself, lovely vast panels of Portuguese tiles, in all number of intricate designs and colours, can be admired in Carmo Church, Almas Chapel, the interior of Sao Bento station and indeed along many of its rustic streets. The town is equally rich in historic monuments and outstanding examples of Baroque architecture, such as Sao Francisco, the Santa Clara churches.

Porto - Comtemporary architecture:: In more recent years, Porto has carved an enviable reputation for its contemporary architecture, including modern designs such as the Serralves Contemporary Art Museum and House of Music, both of which host permanent exhibitions and shows.

By train one day journey: Costa Verde lies in the Northern region of Portugal, and includes wonderful, charming cities such as Braga, Guimaraes and Viana, all located just 50 – 70 km from Porto. Day trips are easily organised from Porto’s Sao Bento Station. Don't miss Douro valley, also a World Heritage landscape, train from Sao Bento station, goes up the river Douro to the vineyards where Port Wine is produced.

Located along the Douro river estuary in northern Portugal, Porto is one of the oldest European centres, and registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. Its settlement dates back several centuries, when it was an outpost of the Roman Empire.

One of Portugal's internationally famous exports, port wine, is named for Porto, since the metropolitan area and in particular the adegas of Vila Nova de Gaia, were responsible for the production and export of the fortified wine.

Golf: This 6-hole course is located across the river from Porto which it makes it very convenient for golfers to play during the week and have fun practising their strokes on the short holes. It is also a very inviting course on which to start the process of learning how to play the game of golf.

Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits dans l'appartement 3. C'était vraiment très bien ! Belle vue, décoration jolie, propre. En plus, il y a un ascenseur dans le building ce qui est utile avec une poussette pour bébé. David nous a accueilli très chaleureusement et nous a conseillé de très bons restaurants tout près de l'appartement. Bref, nous recommandons fortement l'endroit.

The apartment was very good, old building totally renewed, located in a very central area, perfect to explore the old town of Porto.
Lots of services around, great restaurants near the apartments.

The owner, David, was very friendly and eager to give all the necessary information to have a pleasant stay.
I definitely recommend staying in Shining View, it offers great value for little money!

David, the owner of the apartment, was extremely kind and helpful, and he speaks excellent English. He is easily reached if needed by email or cell. The apartment was extremely clean and well maintained with a nice galley kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a living/dining area. It was well furnished and had a flat screen TV and cable service, and the building has an elevator which was much appreciated. The apartment is conveniently located to the historic section of Porto (5 min) and the river (5 min). There is a walking/jogging/biking paved path along the river that is easily accessible from the apartment. Gaia is a short 15 min walk if you want to visit the wine cellars. Tour buses (yellow, blue, red) stop near Clergios Tower, also a short walk from the apartment. There are several nice and inexpensive restaurants nearby and a nice wine bar across the street at #8. David will give you directions and recommendations.

Os recomiendo a todos aquellos que esteis pensando en conocer Oporto que os alojéis en este apartamento. es un edificio completamente rehabilitado. Nosotros lo hemos estrenado. Completamente equipado, no le falta detalle. Cama de 160x200cm, estupenda, bueno con el colchón a estrenar. Está a 5 minutos de la Ribera y a 5 minutos del centro. Además David te da todas las indicaciones oportunas para que disfrutes de la ciudad. (nos recomendó un restaurante al lado del apartamento que cenamos un arroz tamboril y un chuletón estupendos). sitio ideal para conocer Oporto.

The flat is really beautiful, new and very, very clean. It's in the old city center, walk distance to ribiera, all the clubs and everything you want to see in Porto. David was so kind to wait for our check-in after midnight and he provided us with maps, all important info, clean sheets and towels. He also arranged us a cab for check-out and was on our disposal all the time. We recommend him and his flat to everybody who goes there.
