The apartment has been built in Andalusian style. Located in Cerrado de Calderon, one of the best residential areas of Malaga city, at the east of Malaga city with excellent views to the mountains and the sea. It is a quiet area surrounded by pine trees. There are parking places just outside, which is very complicated and expensive in downtown Malaga. 3.5 km from the city historic center. Only 300 m. away there is an area with supermarkets, bars, restaurants, banks, pharmacy and shops. 900 m. away is the beach, Los Baños del Carmen, and 1,300 m. away is the seafront at PEDREGALEJO, area of restaurants and bars where you can sit down on a terrace to enjoy the famous Malaga fried fish and other Mediterranean dishes such as paella, with great views to the bay of Malaga city. Central heating, wifi internet line 24 hours a day. From September to June can be rented for long term.

September Stay in Malaga Apartment

We rented this lovely and simple unit from September 3-13 and really enjoyed the friendly landlord, quiet environment, secure quarters, and solid furnishings. The hilly neighborhood is very accessible to the beach and parking is easy once your learn your way around. The local bakers, grocery, and bank are close by. We enjoyed ourselves and would stay again.

One note: we rented via the VRBO site which lists air conditioning as a feature but doesn't mention any surcharge. At 10 euros a day, the surcharge seemed to be much more than the actual energy cost, so this piece was frustrating and seemed unfair. Also, the "private terrace" is not really much more private than the other sections of the balcony since it is only partially walled off and is missing a door. It does feature outdoor table and chairs.

Nice apartment, friendly people

We spent 2 weeks at D-5 and we never felt we lacked anything. It is a charming little apartment, spotlessly clean, with a small, well equipped kitchenette and eating area, a sofa and a TV set in the living room, and 2 bedrooms with plenty of closet space. Everything is in a very good state of repair. There is a small terrace, equipped with a table and chairs and surrounded by beautiful hibiscus plants and jasmin. Air conditioning is available for an extra fee. The wi-fi worked fine. We had a problem with the fridge the first day and our landlord Juan replaced it promptly. He and his wife are very kind and accommodating. If you wish to hire a car, they can help you with that, too.

The apartment itself is excellent, but you have to know that the house is perched on top of a steep hill, 15-20 minute walk up from the sea and the major bus lines. There is a bus No33 that goes up and a stop right next to the house if you are patient (or lazy) enough to wait for it - it is not very frequent. Halfway up the hill there is an area of restaurants and shops, quite convenient. The city centre is about 4 km away but when you descend from the hill there is a bus line No11 that takes you downtown or, if you take it in the other direction, to the beach area of El Palo where there are nice fish restaurants as well. The bus No11 runs regularly, every 6 minutes on weekdays. To sum it up, you need to have a car or use the public transport to get anywhere - but if you do have a car, it is not difficult to find a place to park it, which is a huge issue in a more central location.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay enormously and we never regretted choosing this apartment.

"Appartamento corrispondente alla descrizione fattane. Ben situato con, non menzionata nella descrizione, una bella vista sul mare. Cucina ideale per la preparazione di piccoli pasti, migliorabile nella dotazione di servizio. Camera matrimoniale spaziosa con un grande locale armadio in fondo. Appartamento molto ben dotato di armadi e comò. Propietario simpatico e molto disponibile. Noi ci siamo stati nel periodo 30.07.13 al 08.08.13 con due bambini di 4 e 10 anni. Parcheggio davanti a casa sempre libero a tutte le ore. Nel complesso assolutamente consigliabile. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo."

Ski: At some point of the year you may be swimming in the sea, and 90 minute later being skiing in Sierra Nevada (Granada).

Means of access.

The Airport is 14 km. away. You can take a taxi that costs 30 € more or less. By bus until the terminal of the centre, and from the centre bus number 33 to Cerrado de Calderón. The train station, and interurban bus station are 5 km away, and a taxi from the apartment costs about 10 Euros. By your own transport, It depends on where you are coming from. Ask for further information.

To get around the city a Bonobus at a very economical price is the solution.
