Car: not necessary
Casa Romance Escondido is located in Puerto Vallarta's old town centre, only 3 blocks away from the famous Our Lady of Guadalupe's church. The area is not only historical, it is Puerto Vallarta's artistic centre. The villa is surrounded by more than 15 art galleries (Corsica Gallery, Galleria Uno, Thierry Blouet Gallery, etc.). The Cafe des Artistes's, a five stars restaurant, has been rated nº1 in Mexico in 2011; it is 200m away. Si Senor is one of the bests Mexican restaurants of the town; it is just on the corner, 30m away from the house. The restaurant Melissa's Seafood, our neighbour, offers typical and traditional food; the food is extraordinary. The streets surrounding the house are like at the time, covered with dressed stone. The geographical location of Puerto Vallarta's city is really special. Built in mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta, with a rich history is full of charm. The famous Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton did that, at the time, this city was world famous after they played in the movie 'La nuit de l'iguane'. They bought a house just above Casa Romance Escondido, in the hill. The village has become a town with about 250000 inhabitants. World famous, you will find Le Malecon, 2 min away in front of the house. Le Malecon, which is a cement extent, of about 1 km on 25m wide, has been fully reconstructed in 2011. It is lined by palm trees, flowers and tropical plants. Huge bronze statues indicate the beginning of each street going towards the centre and the heights of this mountain which makes this city. Inhabitants have the custom to meet for a walk when night comes and warmth becomes colder. Lots of painters and artists of all kinds exhibit their talents to the tourists. Many night clubs, bars and restaurants. A margarita at midnight and a taco at 2 a.m. before going dancing until sunset. Life in Vallarta is quiet and peaceful; without a doubt, Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's cities where crime is almost non-existent. Police is very efficient, tourists are royally welcomed and its security depends on the regional economy. Casa Romance Escondido's terrace faces directly the ocean. The temperature in Vallarta is very pleasant and does not really change during the year. This terrace is perfect for a group of 10 persons. It allowed me last year to invite more than 100 persons to a party that I organized for the Rotary Club members and for the Puerto Vallarta twinned with Santa Barbara, where I live. Incredibly, all year long, a corsair style frigate comes in these waters facing the terrace, at 10 p.m. when darkness falls. From this floodlit boat, begins a pyrotechnic projection seen by thousands of people waiting.
