4 lge bdrms, 2 baths, 46' TV, huge open plan living area, 5 acres. Its spacious!

ON PRISTINE BIG CEDAR LAKE (nr Stoney Lake). This beautiful architect designed house has lots of light and space: 20 ft high ceilings, large modern open plan living area with great views of the lake and 4 bedrooms sleeping 6 adults in 3 king-sized bedrooms and up to 3 children in the large kiddies room. Two bathrooms, a cloakroom and full laundry room, mud room, all mod con's + 46' LED Satellite TV and DVD player. For those who love water we have 2 kayaks, a canoe and a pedal boat, on land there are 2 bicycles and you cant fail but catch a fish in the lake! Barbeque in the screen porch or outside, star gaze from the balcony, or tell stories round fire pit by the lake, the evenings are taken care of in this luxurious and tranquil location.

Kawartha means 'Land of Shining Waters' and is the name that First Nations people gave to the region surrounding the modern-day city of Peterborough. It remains a fitting description of an area renowned for its wealth of sparkling lakes and rivers, rugged landscape and deep forest of which Big Cedar Lake is a relatively small but perfect example, being 3 miles long and 1 mile wide situated on the edge of a Provincial Park and deep forest. The lake is spring fed and one of the cleanest in Ontario.

The Art House on Big Cedar Lake is in the heart of this renowned, exceptionally picturesque region. A General Store and great diner are just 3 km away and the pretty village of Lakefield a 20 minute drive. Lakefield has 3 excellent restaurants as well as good shopping for foodies and gift seekers. Another 20 minutes' drive takes you to the eclectic city of Peterborough where there is plenty of shopping, live music and entertainment, art and cultural activities, and first class restaurants The Kawarthas and surrounding region offers a full range of exciting year-round experiences including cross-country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling, skating, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, golfing, swimming, water skiing, fishing, white water rafting, as well as many arts and cultural attractions.

The Art House on pristine Big Cedar Lake is to be found in the North Kawarthas, an area peppered with lakes and waterways, 2 hours car journey north-east of Toronto and just north of the pretty village of Lakefield. The House looks over a small bay and on over the lake to the Provincial Park (a protected area) on the far shore, whilst to the rear of the property is virgin forest. The lake water is clear and warm in summer, perfect for swimming, fishing and enjoying being surrounded by nature - beavers, loons, osprey, chipmunks and even the occasional otter. Local attractions include Algonquin Provincial Park, the close-by Petroglyphs Park (a native heritage site) and the Trent waterway flowing through the city of Peterborough (25 kms) with its Canoe Museum, famous Lift Lock, shops, restaurants etc.

Thank you Nancy and John for the use of your lovely house. We had a wonderful time, had great weather. the house was superb with every convenience and we really enjoyed the lake and messing about on small kayaks and the canoe. We loved it here and caught a few fish too. Many thanks!
