A rural road, running through the 900 hectars of family owned forest, stables and farmlands, approaches the main entrance beneath a 60 foot high cathedral canopy of elm tree trunks and limbs. Passing through the entrance gate, you will cross over the brook feeding the moat and mirror de l'eau, and arrive at the apartment on the left with a full view of Le Chateau du Marais across the moat also to the left and its 500 meter mirror de l'eau to your right. Each morning, the mist rising from the waters creates an original impressionist painting.
Close access to Golf, Historic Sites from Fontainebleau, Versailles, and Vaux-le-Vicomte to Chartres, Horseback Riding, Tennis, Swimming.
Entering the Apartment: Opening the private front door which leads down a long hall directly to the Grand Living Room, there are windows on the right with close views of the mirror de l'eau, which is second in size only to that of Versailles. The Living Room itself is beautifully appointed with windows on three sides, and front row seats to the moats, the facade of the Chateau du Marais connecting across the side moat to a wing of its predecessor Chateau on the left.
The entrance door also leads upstairs to the next floor, at the top right of which is a window offering a breathtaking sunset view over the mirror de l'eau. On this floor is the master bedroom suite, a dining room off a large kitchen, a sitting room, and another full bedroom suite as well.
The third floor includes a third bedroom and a large room, which can be used either as another bedroom or a children's playroom.
Other Towns: The town of St Cheron is less than 3 miles to the south, with a small market, good bread and an RER C Metro station taking you to the Musee D'Orsay in 1 hour. The town of Breuillet is about the same distance to the east, with two supermarkets. Dourdan is ten minutes to the west by car, where there are cultural activities and a farmer's market.
