Phenomenal Apartment in Montreal

The apartment is just fabulous as it looks in the pictures. Wonderfully designed and impeccably maintained it was a real treat to stay here. The apartment has everything you could need for a comfortable, enjoyable stay. The apartment is in a great neighborhood and a quick 3 minute walk from the Beaubien metro station so it's super easy to get around Montreal. You can also walk to the Jean Talon market or Little Italy in 15 or 20 minutes from the flat.

Our favorite place ever in Montréal?!

When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised that the apartment was even better than in the pictures! Very nicely appointed bedrooms, a lovely kitchen, a large living room/TV room, and both front and back porches, the back with table and chairs and the BBQ.

The location itself is fabulous, with a Metro stop at the end of the block, a large IGA grocery about a two minute walk away, bagel bakery about three minutes, and Marché Jean-Talon about seven minutes away on foot. The area has vibrant cafes, an abundance of choices of cuisines,
and is also only blocks from some of Montréal's best shopping.

Even though we've spent a great deal of time in Montréal? over the last decade, our hosts helped us discover what was, for us, a new part of the city, the Jean-Talon Market area and Montréal?'s Little Italy. Our friendly hostess provided us with a nice map of the area, which she annotated by hand with approximate walking times and names of places she specifically recommended. In terms of dining, a pleasant find was El Rey Del Taco in the Marché; we had such a great breakfast there, we HAD to go back for dinner!

To sum up, friendly, gracious hosts, lovely apartment, fabulous location, a truly fun part of the city to be in, great dining! Highly recommended!

We enjoyed all the amenities and features provided in the condo. Helene is a great host with excellent communication (quick response to our emails.) The location to the Jean Talon Market and Metro is wonderful and the reason we chose this unit. Thanks Helene!

Luxurious condo indeed!

We were very pleased with the condo. It was very clean and very beautiful yet very practical. We stayed in the condo for 2 weeks with our children (age 6 & 13) & absolutely enjoyed it. Helene is an excellent hostess, she made us feel so welcome! When we first met Helene, she walked us through the condo explaining to us how to operate specialized equipment/appliances from the cappuccino maker to Jacuzzi tub. We appreciated that since we do not have those items at home and would not know how to even turn them on or what to expect once they are done operating. The condo had everything we needed to make us feel at home, and not to mention a rice cooker! The pantry was filled with different kinds of cooking oil, spices and even some can goods. In the fridge, there were all sorts of condiments including fish sauce. If you are a foodie who loves to cook like myself then this is the condo to be, and especially the Jean-Talon market (huge farmers market) is 5 minute walk where you can get fresh produces, eggs, cheese, meat, seafood and of course baguettes and croissants. The location is very convenient. The Metro station was a block away and so was the IGA grocery store. We could get to the down town area in less than 10 minutes by Metro & an easy walk to Little Italy from the condo. There were tons of shops nearby & our 13 year-old son loves to go to the game shop which is a block away that hosts Yugioh tournament twice a week. He loves playing Yugioh cards, but unfortunately where we are in VA, there are not that many game shops that would host Yugioh tournaments so he was very happy to be able to walk over to the game shop from the condo.
The Jacuzzi tub was very nice after a long day.
As for the parking, we had to move our car from one side of the street to the other daily (except Fri-Sun) due to street cleaning from 8 am to 9 am & Helene gave us a very good instruction. However, Helene has a parking space for rent so you can do that as well if you do not want to have to deal with moving your car. One other nice thing that Helene made it easy for us was that she accepted US dollars. Thank you Helene and Michel.

Perfect for Cooking at Home

We were two couples who spent a week here in early August to celebrate one couple's 30th anniversary. We all like to cook, and we ate almost all our dinners here. The main attraction for us was the Jean Talon Market nearby -- it's hard to exaggerate how wonderful that place is during the summer. There's also a well-stocked SAQ (wine & liquor) store right around the corner. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the gas grill on the back balcony was a big bonus. Dishwasher was handy. We spent our evenings sitting around the big kitchen table with the doors open enjoying the late summer light and the fabulous breezes that blow through this 3rd floor apt. It was so cool we never had to turn on the AC, even when we had the stove and oven running full-tilt. This flat is perfect for foodies who would like to cook at home.

The apartment is comfortable, clean and well-supplied. Helene, the owner, lives in the apartment underneath the rental. She was responsive in emails, helpful when we arrived and never intrusive. We arranged payment through PayPal and received our security deposit back as soon as we left.

It's a great neighborhood, not too fancy with a lot of funky little cafes and restaurants. The Beaubien metro stop is at the end of the block. Off-street parking is available for $10/night and is worth the price.

When we return to Montreal, this would be our first choice for a place to stay. We can't recommend it highly enough.
