Located on the coast of Australia fronting the Gulf of St Vincent, Adelaide is one of Australia’s biggest cities and has an impressive range of holiday rentals. From grand holiday houses and serviced apartments in Adelaide to holiday deals and budget accommodation, there is a wealth of choice.
With your holiday rental in Adelaide secured, it’s time to hit the streets and soak up the culture. For land lovers, Adelaide plays host to all the trappings of a buzzing city with boutiques, beautiful colonial architecture and a thriving nightlife to draw you in.
Coast-side, Adelaide’s beaches reflect a different side of the city. If your holiday accommodation in Adelaide doesn’t come with views, head to the Glenelg coastal area for a visual treat as well as the chance to swim with dolphins and witness dream sunsets.
By night it is time to do as the locals and hit the restaurants. Dining out is an integral part of life in Adelaide. Budget accommodation dwellers will be pleased to know that there are dedicated ‘eat streets’ where you can find food at a range of prices whilst those in self-contained apartments in Adelaide should take at least one evening away from home cooking to let Adelaide’s world class chefs prepare dinner.
From exotic cuisines to al fresco dining, if food is your passion, locate your holiday accommodation in Adelaide strategically and you can find yourself in the midst of food lover’s paradise.
You’re unlikely to exhaust all the sights in Adelaide in one visit, but do be sure to leave your holiday rental in Adelaide behind and head for the hills. Adelaide Hills are awash with farmland and villages offering dramatic Bavarian style chalet accommodation located amidst the markets and the sights that have proved inspiration for Adelaide’s artists for years.
Another great day trip can be found in the Barossa and Clare Valleys where you can expand on the tastes found in Adelaide’s wine bars. For a real flavour of the valleys, swap your accommodation in Adelaide for a night amongst the vineyards to get closer to the grape.
Adelaide has a Mediterranean climate which makes it an ideal year round destination. January and February have the highest temperatures which peak in the late 20s and a holiday villa with a pool in Adelaide can be a great option at this time of year. June and July, during Adelaide’s winter, see the most rainfall whilst the shoulder seasons of October and April are best for comfortable temperatures.
Adelaide is my favourite place to travel. Although it is small, there is plenty to see and do in this friendly and relaxed city. Within an hour of the city you will find magnificent beaches as well as the Barossa Valley. The Valley is filled with countless wineries and vineyards. Slightly further out there is amazing 4WD tracks and camp grounds in the Adelaides outback. Take a trip to the Adelaide Hills and you will find local cafes and restaurants with eclectic scenery. Nearby is a small German town called Hahndorf. There is plenty to do in this town as you will find restaurants, bakeries, art galleries, German cake shops, and donut stands. If you are interested in an affordable holiday spot, then Adelaide is the destination for you. There are many affordable accommodations, as well as amazing beaches, clear waters and much more.
