You can see them up close by snorkelling around the surrounding coral reefs and placid waters.

Join in the learn to dive school to check out what’s beneath the waters and maybe even get good enough for a dive tour to a sunken ship wreck. If this seems a bit tiring for your holiday break you can simply relax on the tropical sandy beach with a good magazine or book. There are many adventure tours available and these are either on foot, by bike, on a cruise ship or yacht or using your muscles to propel you (or just float) by kayak or canoe. As well as adventure you can enjoy the arts and crafts on offer here on Magnetic Island. There are galleries, shops, and fashion boutiques all to be discovered and explored. Feel free to pop into the museums for some relevant history about the island and is inhabitants - whether they be human, mammal or sea creature! You can hold a Koala or a snake and get up close and personal with a crocodile!

Magnetic Islands Climate:
When visiting Townsville, you can best describe their climate as a tropical Savannah type. However during the winter season which is typically the dry season you can expect the occasional monsoon. If you’re planning on visiting in summertime this is also known as the wet season which begins in November and doesn’t finish until the end of April. Most of this rainfall occurs between late December and mid-march. For the dry season, you should visit between May and October.
