15 - 18 May 2014
Classed as one of the premier events in Australia, the Noosa Food & Wine Festival always attracts more than two hundred world renowned chefs, wine makers and anyone who is anyone from the food and wine media houses.
Serious connoisseurs of fine wine and food congregate in Noosa to see what these masters have produced in this particular year. They have the added advantage of staying in some of the finest accommodation in Noosa or in Brisbane while attending the event, and the superb location of the nearby beaches and hinterland to feed any other needs they may have!
When to Book
The festival runs from 15th to 18th May, 2014 and, as many wineries are vying to get into the event already, wine aficionados are set for a stupendous experience. In fact, the organizing committee is being a little sketchy about the surprises they have planned as yet but, if the 2013 event is anything to go by, visitors will literally have their proverbial socks knocked off!
Accommodation in and Around Noosa
This lovely place is nestled along the north end of SE Queensland and is considered to be the absolute lifestyle capital of the continent. Holiday makers flood in from abroad as well as from Brisbane and the surrounding areas on most weekends, so the accommodation in Noosa is available for every budget and also in abundance. Holiday accommodation in Noosa is low-rise, to keep the place looking natural, and is anywhere from first class hotels to serviced apartments or holiday home rental accommodation right down to campsites for the intrepid backpackers. Kids are usually well catered for too so this is a really great place to bring them to have fun while the grown ups are attending the festival.
What to Expect at This Event
In 2012, one of the most sought after tickets was to the superb Showcase Event from Qantas called the Best Dinner in the World. This was a superb seven course dinner, with wines for every course, which had a presenter in the form of Lisa Perrotti-Brown. There was a Master of Wine and several international chefs lending a hand all from the S. Pelligrino World’s Best Restaurant list. One can only imagine the quality of the food served up here! Similar events are on the cards for 2014 but of course, the organisers promise bigger and better.
Where this Event Takes Place
Noosa, on Queensland’s Sunshine coast is the venue for this heart stopping event. It has the most beautiful coastline views, accommodation in many forms and all surrounded by absolutely lush rainforest. There are waterways to be explored by boat or hire craft, world class boutiques to shop in and, naturally, some of the best restaurants around. With all this going for it, it is no wonder that it is the home of this famous event. The National Park is not far away either so, for those who visit the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival there is plenty to do to stay trim while gorging on all that beautiful food and wine. Indeed, most people will plan their one or two weeks holiday around this event so that they can visit Brisbane accommodation, just one hundred and sixty kilometres away, for a few nights to see the sights there as well.
