    Holiday Accommodation in Callala Beach

Callala Beach is a stunning coastal hamlet located just minutes away from the picturesque town of Callala Bay on the bustling but beautiful holiday destination, Jervis Bay.

Jervis Bay is a ‘peculiar’ part of Australia politically speaking. Although surrounded by New South Wales, it actually belongs to the Capital Territories and is administered as such. There are military installations in the bay area and HMAS ships are regularly seen at harbour. None of this detracts from the outstanding beauty of the area and the bay’s north western shores where resorts like Callala Beach are found, are popular, but not overrun with visitors from home and abroad.

With plenty of holiday homes, to choose from, visitors who flock to the gorgeous village at Callala Beach have plenty to do and plenty of places to stay.

    Things to Do and See

Callala beach is a sheltered expanse of white sand which is washed gently by calm waters. This makes it perfect for families with kids who want to swim in gentle waters rather than in the surfing waves enjoyed by countless elsewhere.

There are restaurants close to the beach and plenty more scattered around the coastline and in the neighbouring towns. Callala Beach has some shops so you can get provisions for your holiday home, but if you want a wider selection there’s a shopping centre in Huskisson, the main town on Jervis Bay.

    Walking

There’s no need to spend any length of time in your Callala Beach holiday home – no matter how nice the view of the beach is. The headland offers plenty of walks, as does the Booderee National Park on southern side of the bay. There’s also 80 hectares of botanical gardens with its wetlands and rocky outcrops.

    Adventure Kayaking

The nationally accredited canoe training centre has been taking kayaking tours out into the bay for more than 40 years. Experienced guides offer half day and full day trips, and even overnight trips combined with camping.

Whether you have never been in a kayak before or are an experienced paddler, the guides will be able to take you on an adventure of a lifetime.

Get up close and personal with the animal and marine life in their natural environment, glide closely and watch dolphins frolic in the water, playfully interacting with the kayaks.

    Diving

Scuba diving and snorkelling are popular pastimes in Callala Beach. The gorgeous turquoise waters are inviting and water temperature pleasant, making an underwater excursion a delightful one.

Visitors need not worry if they do not have any equipment or diving gear with them, the dive companies and charters will be able to provide everything visitors need to enjoy a day of underwater exploration.

    Whale watching

All around Jervis Bay, there are a number of experienced whale watching charters that take visitors out into the waters to see whales and dolphins frolicking and playing in their natural environment. Enjoy the magical experience with a half day charter or a full day trip out into the bay.

During the peak of the whale season, visitors can be treated to an abundance of whales in their pods as they make their way to their summer breeding waters. Watch the whales as they feed on plankton and move around near the surface, and capture the massive beauties at their best. Look out for all the information on whale watching charters and dolphin watching excursions at your holiday home or holiday rental.

    Climate

The mild climate of the Callala Beach area is tempered by the sea and the moderate summer and winter months and mild temperatures make it the perfect place to visit your holiday home all year round.

Daytime temperatures in summer range from 25C to 17 C at night during the summer months from October to April. The winter months run from 17C to 7C at night, which is still pleasant enough to sit outside of your holiday rental and enjoy a meal with your family.

    Getting there from the UK

Sydney is the closest major airports for visitors from the UK. Flights to the Callala Beach region will land at Nowra International Airport which is about 20km from the front door of your holiday home in Callala Beach.
