About this property

This property is positioned in the west wing of a fabulous moated farm house.

The School Room is positioned in the West Wing of a fabulous moated farm house set in rural Suffolk and is ideal for a couple wanting to do very little or as a centrally located base for a week of exploring Suffolk.

The School Room has its own private entrance and a beautifully renovated interior. The kitchen provides everything you could want and there is a large wet room located downstairs with a walk in shower. The sitting room has a wood burning stove to make your stay cosy whilst upstairs there is king-size sleigh bed. There are sensational views of the gardens and moat from all the windows and lots of parking for cars within the grounds.

The School Room is situated in nearly an acre of hedged enclosures with the main farmhouse surrounded on three sides by a moat with a bridge into a large orchard. Twin herbaceous borders, a winter walk, minimalist pool, croquet lawn, mature trees, rose garden, grasses, hosta and fern beds and an autumn circle are all available for guests to enjoy. The garden is open to the public for a few short days in the summer as part of the National Garden Scheme but our guests get to enjoy it in their own time.

The location and surrounds were lovely. Unfortunately we had a pre existing injury, and the owner wasn't expecting us due to unusual circumstances. For us the parking was on the other side of the house (in wet weather) and there was no freezer. The host was lovely

Great location
Very comfortable for a short stay for two. Lovely gardens to wander with the camera enjoying some great weather and first sign of fruit blossom. Centrally placed to visit Flatford Mill, RSPB Minsmere and the beautiful Bury St.Edmunds. We also had an excellent take away from Little China down the road at Stow Upland!

A Suffolk Idyll
A really warm and welcoming cottage. Impressively equipped. The weather, although quite dry, was very cold, but the cottage was warm and cosy with a lovely log burning stove. The owners were very welcoming and Mid-Suffolk is a delight with many lovely villages and small towns close by. We found many good eateries and good food to buy. Will go again.
