About this property

Panoramic mountain and ocean views just outside of town. Quiet, serene , solar.

If you like the privacy of not having neighbors close by and living away from town but close enough to zip into town when you want this is a great place. It is also completely solar powered and off grid but with all the amenities of town homes. It is quiet at night with the predominant sounds being that of the desert and ocean as we are two miles up the canyon from the beach. Mi casa es su casa so you can build a fire in the pit, bbq on your big deck, or stargaze from your hammock.
Driving Directions: Leaving town on the road north you pass the only other Pemex to your left. Continue for a quarter mile and on your right you will see a small marine barrack with a green wall. Directly across the street from that there is a road with a light post and reflector on it. Continue up the road and vere left at the house with the big concrete fence. go right right after you pass it and on the left you will see the chili fields. Take your immediate first right up the hill and my house is at the top of the hill with a Toyota Land cruiser out front and a green wall. Around back is your entrance.
ps. the address on the site is not correct because you have to provide a physical address. There is no address here since we are outside of town. However the map location is correct as well as the description. A car is necessary

Very peaceful place
After the craziness of Cabo, the quiet and solitude was a welcome relief. Great sunsets and the dogs are so sweet.

Recommend
Everything was as described: very quiet place. Good location, functional appliances, clean bed, friendly dogs. You and the starry skies; you and the blue around. Satisfied overall and will definitely return. Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to meet with Gabriel as he was away. The only thing is almost a total absence of the road to the house. You can't have a fancy rental, need to have an SUV. Arrive at daytime. If you miss to arrive during the daytime, you risk to spend the rest of the night outside.

About the host

Host profile image
Hi. My name is Gabriel. I moved to Todos Santos about 6 years ago after really taking a liking to it after a couple of surf trips. I built a house that is totally off grid and that recycles most of what it uses. Solar panels for lighting and satellite tv. propane refrigerators for refrigeration, and recycling of most grey water to an organic garden via sump pumps in collection barrels. We live in a water scarce area so this is essential. The pros: your host, me, is super laid back, helpful in all you need to know about the area, not mister nosey and respectful of your privacy. I have travelled around the planet on long backpacking trips from Amsterdam, to Laos, to Siberia, to Africa etc, etc, etc. I surf and mountain bike which happens to be great in this area, I am a documentary movie junkie, and I like to listen to somewhat obscure indie rock bands. I have a son with a baby mama that live down the hill and spend a lot of time with him so he chilling with me at the house part of the time. He'll probably ask you to play baseball with him as he just got into T-ball. I have 2 dogs and a couple other canine visitors at times because I serve up some really good dog food! so If you have a pet that is cool as long it is a dog. I like cats but don't trust the dogs with them. Their names are Buddy and Tigre. They are rescues. Dogs are pretty simple much like myself. Lets see, I don't really like talking about myself too much but here are a couple more things. One of my favorite movies is Bitter Moon by Roman Polanski, one of my favorite bands is the Brian Jonestown Massacre, and I love to cook. Used to own a restaurant and a cafe and currently working on another business/cafe.

Why they chose this property

I like the fact that I was so close to town yet so far away. Here you will not hear blaring banda music at night. Mostly just crickets and the distant waves of the Pacific.

What makes this property unique

Hiking and biking right in your back yard as well as easy access to the highway. Peaceful and private with no close neighbors. Lots of bird activity for birdwatchers as we are the highest point in the area. You can also see the whales migrating with and without binoculars but better with.
