About this property

The House of Daughters for 8 people

The House of Daughters is built with the materials of the area, sandstone walls, structure of oak beams and all the chestnut carpentry. Only the distribution has been modernized to offer the visitor the comforts to which we are accustomed today.

The entrance, in which the original floor of thick limestones is preserved, decorated with the furniture of our grandparents gives way to a spacious living room. Old hayloft of the house that has double height and a great viewpoint in front of the green meadows and rocky slopes of "La Peña".

From the living room, by a spiral staircase, made by one of the best blacksmiths of Cantabria, we went up to the red bedroom. The hottest in the house, above the kitchen and facing south.

The kitchen that we entered from the living room through an old car pass is a mix between the traditional wood-burning stove and the modern appliances. On the ground floor, with access from the entrance is the green bedroom. A combination of woods, fabrics and paintings very relaxing and tremendously silent.

Through a solid chestnut staircase we went up to the violet bedroom, also facing south. Formerly the noble area of the house where the master bedroom and the dining room were located. Today, with two balconies one to the south and another to the salient is the largest room and also has the largest bathroom. The decoration, as in the other rooms, aims to combine modern comforts with the old materials of the area.

In front of this bedroom we have the orange bedroom, the most cheerful of the house, abuardillada and cozy with its bathroom and its window.

From the entrance, down the stairs to the basement we find the old block, now converted into a service area that gives us access to a bajoteja lounge we call Colgadiza. With 70 square meters we have space to enjoy meetings, games or just watch it rain. One of the most relaxing activities on earth.
