The house, built in 2009, fits 10 persons and is fully equipped with all modern conveniences including WIFI. There are 4 bedrooms, all air conditioned. One of them is situated on the ground floor and has a private shower, toilet and own entrance from the garden. There is a spacious lounge with air conditioning and fireplace. TV and DVD player are available. The kitchen is modern and equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave and refrigerator. You will find a water cooler, 2nd fridge/freezer and washing machine in the pantry. Wifi provided. Large veranda with multiple seats and big table for breakfast or dinner outside. On the first floor there are 3 more bedrooms, all air conditioned. There is a room with a 2-bed, a room with 2 single beds and a third room for 4 people with double bunk. Also on this floor are 2 luxurious 2-sink bathrooms, each with toilet and bidet. Each upstairs bedroom opens onto the large balcony from overlooking the big garden (1100 sqm) and offering a splendid view over the mountain

The garden, flanked by a small brook where you will find small river turtles sunbathing, contains orange-, fig-, lemon-, banana trees and more. There is a big barbecue. In the back of the garden, you will find the large swimming pool (40 m2) than can be lighted after sundown, During the day, relax in the sun using one of the big sun chairs and umbrellas. The pool is kept clean daily during swimming season, always ensuring you perfectly fresh and celan water.

The village

Dalyan is a small town in the province of Mugla on the southwest (Lycian) coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is approximately 25 minutes from the international airport of Dalaman. The town is situated in the center of a broad delta of special and unspoiled natural beauty that is assigned a protected status. In addition, the area is of great historical value: the ancient city of Caunos lies on the opposite side of the river that runs along Dalyan. The ruins of this ancient city from the 3rd century of our era are so extensive that they are still not fully uncovered.

The Dalyan River, allowing water to flow from the Köycegiz lake to the Mediterranean runs right past the town, where it is flanked by numerous terraces where you can enjoy the always warm summer evenings and have a refreshing drink or enjoy the delicious local Turkish cuisine. And why not order fresh fish, newly caught while you watch? From here one has a breathtaking view of the river that passes the famous ancient Lycian rock tombs and then meanders through a network of lakes and waterways. Through this mixture of fresh and salt water, these vast wetlands provide habitat for a large species of fish, birds and other life in and around the water.

It is therefore the town had retained its natural charm and beauty and has become a small center for tourism, where massive tourism and big hotels near the beach are taboo. There are many restaurants in the center, which offer a wide choice of lively shops and nightlife. A regular dolmus service operates a shuttle service, not only to larger towns in the region such as Fethiye and Marmaris, but also to smaller towns in the immediate vicinity.

In short: this is a unique and unspoilt destination with lots of culture, charm, history and spectacular scenery, excellent local cuisine and above all an unforgettable hospitality. Really a very suitable destination for families - no doubt, before your stay ended, you will look forward to come back for another visit.

The beach

The Iztuzu beach, regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, lies 5 km south of the river that cuts through the delta.

The spotless sandy beach together with the turquoise sea is an ideal place for tourists who in search for an attractive subtropical beach, ideal for swimming, snorkeling and other forms of entertainment but far from mass tourism. The area around the beach is protected in favor of the turtles and therefore there are no buildings directly near the beach and it takes a short but beautiful trip to get there, The beach can be reached by a wonderful and relaxing 20 minute trip with one of the numerous turkish boats from the municipal boat company, but you can also get there by car or by minibus.

Say Dalyan and you say turtles. The Iztuzu beach at Dalyan is one of the last beaches in the world where the great sea turtle Caretta caretta (which can reach a weight over 350 lbs) breeds. This special turtles return every summer since time immemorial to lay their eggs and bury them in the sand to be hatched by the heat of the sun. The discovery that Iztuzu Beach is one of the last places on earth where these turtles (Caretta caretta) lay their eggs, was the reason this beach was declared a protected wildlife area of international importance.

The turtle has become the symbol of Dalyan, a place that has set the goal of protecting this beautiful endangered species. The nature in this region is the reason this is one of the few officially protected areas in Turkey. And for this reason there is no building near the beach, so you can be sure that the small-scale tourism and beach stays calm, even in high season.

As nature in and around Dalyan is carefully protected, Dalyan is not a destination for mass tourism but is retained as an authentic paradise for Turkey where peace, nature and beautiful bays and beaches remained almost untouched. For just a few lira, small taxi boats will bring you via Dalyan harbour on a scenic route across the river to an even more quiet part of the beach which is not accessible for cars.

The environment

In the immediate vicinity of the villa, there is much nice to see, to do and to experience. There is a beautiful untouched nature: this region is even on of the few officially protected areas in Turkey and offers many opportunities for beautiful walks with breathtaking views. Walking through this area, chances are that you will meet several wild turtles crossing your path. Then there are the ruins of the millennial-old city of Caunos (3000 BC) and the famous rock-cut Lycian tombs. A local family will gladly bring you in their rowing boat to the other side of the river where the ruins are located. Nearby are the famous mud baths of Sultaniye that are said to cure many ailments, and even to have an anti-aging effect. After a healthy and rejuvenating mud bath, there is the possibility of a refreshing bath in natural sulfur-rich hot spring with 40-degree warm water.

The Lycian coast is characterized by rugged mountains, olive groves, countless orange and lemon trees and vast forests. The beaches are very clean and the coast has countless unspoiled rocky coves and small sandy beaches. The sea is clear and contains a wealth of fish. In short, this area is really a natural paradise.

Authentic fishing villages, idyllic resorts, the remains of antiquity that witnesses thousands of years of history, culture and mythology of this region make it to a destination that offers something for everybody, whether you are a nature lover, sun addict or looking for a more active holiday. Only if you are looking for mass entertainment and huge tourits buildings directly at the beach, you will have to look elsewhere.....

Uniek en perfect vakantie huis

  • 5 of 5

Luxurious villa with a pool and much privacy.

  • 4 of 5

A wonderful stay in a wonderful place. Clean, well maintained. Lots of space and all the facilities you need for a comfortable holiday. We liked it a lot. Especially the pool.

Further a good distance to the centre of town (20 minutes walk). Lots of nice places for dinner.

We visited the hamam and we made a boottrip along the coast. Very nice, our favorite activity. We spotted turtles and beautiful birds and fish! Easily to book with the property manager. Good service!

The perfect Familiy week in Villa Jacaranda

  • 5 of 5

After a very smooth booking process and equipped with all information provided beforehand through a dedicated Web-App, our party of 8 picked up the key for Villa Jacaranda in downtown Dalyan.

The beautiful Villa is decorated with lovely details and artwork which gave us a fabulous impression right away. The next 3 days we barely made it out of the beautiful pool area where the whole familiy (from Grandparents to Childen) had great fun. With an outdoor BBQ area also at the premises, we spend the first days at the Villa and enjoyed the perfect summer evenings. We surely recommend booking boat trips to Ituzu Beach as well as the mud/Thermal Bath. We saw several Sea Turtles in action which was a awsome experience. We also took the advice from our hosts to celebrate my wife´s birthday at Sunset Restaurant, hidden away in the mountain´s with great local food, a perfect view of the area and...of course an impressive sunset.

It was our first time to this part of Turkey and we already recommend to our friends as we spend a perfect familiy week in Villa Jacaranda.

Dalyan .... a perfect holiday in a blissful Villa.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had an absolutely glorious 2 weeks in Dalyan and in particular in Villa Jacaranda.

The villa was fabulous and the garden is one of the best gardens we have had the pleasure in experiencing. All credit to the owners for the design and I give credit to the person that maintains the garden also. I fell in love with the fruit trees and greenery, especially the lemon trees. The pool was amazing, the sights and sounds within the villa and surrounding area were blissful. The veranda was our favourite sitting area. On the very last day my nephew & niece were delighted in finding 3 baby turtles swimming through the stream to the side of the garden (perfect villa for inquisitive kids!).

The local people were wonderful and kind. Dalyan is truly a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy everything it has to offer and I pray it will remain this way. We will continue to recommend Dalyan, Villa Jacaranda, Dalyan Select (who took care of the management of the villa and arranged our return transfers) and the places/restaurants we have visited in particular Happy House Restaurant & Cafe, big thanks to head waiter Yuksel for my mothers birthday cake and their incredible hospitality. Sahil Restaurant were also fab with their food and boat ride so was our meal at La Vie Restaurant also on the riverside. Big thanks to Dalyan Select for organising a fab full days jeep ride, the driver was amazing, experienced beautiful scenery in glorious sunshine. We hope to return again someday.

Lovey villa in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic two weeks in villa Jacaranda in Aug 15.

A perfect location with a great garden and pool. Ideal for large families with lots of room. The owner and agent in Turkey were excellent and recommend their airport pick-up and car hire. Numerous good restaurants in town and places to visit - highly recommend the all day boat trip organised by Dalyan Select.

Highly recommended.

A wonderful relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

We are 2 families who have gone on 'villa' holidays together for the past 5 years. We have 4 children between us ages 6 and 8 years.

Our communication with Jan prior to the holiday was amazing - most emails with questions were answered almost immediately, he was both helpful and informative and clearly genuinely wanted us to enjoy the villa and the Daylan area.

We arrived late at night and were met by the local agent in Daylan and were taken directly to Villa Jakaranda.

The villa itself is decorated and presented to a high standard, it is both simple yet stylish - the kitchen in particular is very well equipped! The outside has a lovely garden with various fruit trees - a nice BBQ area and a spacious ground terrace with comfy seating and a large dinning table. The pool is set a little bit away from the house which is always a bonus with young children. Generally it is a beautiful villa set in quiet surroundings although you will need to get used to the early morning call of the mosque!

We very much enjoyed Daylan and the surrounding area, it is not overly touristy and the people are charming. I would definitely recommend a boat trip with Sahil (?) he has the smartest boat and worth paying the little extra he may charge over competitors - his family have a very good restaurant which again is worth a visit.

Go to the non tourist end of the beach and visit the turtle sanctuary and a drive up into the hills above to one of the small family run restaurants will provide you with the most amazing views and a 'home cooked' meal cooked from scratch - perfect if you want somewhere away from the masses.

I can't recommend Villa Jakaranda more highly - we all agreed that is was one of the best holidays we have had and a wonderful introduction to Turkey.

Thank you to both Jan and Saskia

On 1100 sq. m of land, covered with orange and lemon trees in the midst of the mountains near the charming town of Dalyan, we designed our own house with love, passion and respect for the local culture. Amidst the mountains, with nature and unspoilt beaches nearby, you will enjoy an unforgettable holiday. The villa is situated along a rural road on walking distance of the village, neighbouring a pommegranade orchard. Many romantic little restaurants along the riverside where you can enjoy very tasty and affordable food untill the late evening. Ancient historical sites can be found in the direct neighbourhood. Turtle beach, unspoilt nature all around. Here, we created a house with a special and authentic atmosphere and with a very high standard, first class beds, all airconditioned, fruit garden with BBQ, private pool. Our goal: to offer you an unforgettable holiday in Villa Jakaranda!
