Finland's Lapland is the ideal place to combine a relaxing holiday with some exciting activities either in the winter or in the summer. The perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Nestling in the fells of Western Lapland our bungalows are located in the unspoilt village of Akaslompolo which lies 220km north of the Arctic Circle and offers an intimate encounter with the wilderness of Lapland and its nature. Despite being in the middle of Lapland's nature we are easily accessible by air, car and train. A major focus point of the local community has been that it is easy to reach. Once you are at our bungalows you don't need a car, everything is within walking distance. Bus connections bring you to us from the airport after each arriving flight as well as back to the airport for your departing flight. The bus ride takes 35 minutes.

First class activities and accommodation are coupled with a stunning natural environment. The local cross country ski tracks and are beautiful, safe and peaceful in the middle of nature and the tracks will provide good entertainment for both beginners and experienced skiers. Along the tracks are cozy log cafeterias where you can take a break and enjoy a hot drink and snacks. After you have skied enjoy your own private sauna in your bungalow to relax.

There is a range of activities on offer depending on the season. There are activities available for the whole family. Snowmobile rides, husky rides and reindeer rides are all available a 4 minute walk from the bungalow. Children can dig into deep snow piles and enjoy the clean white soft snow outside your bungalow. Skis and snow shoes and sledges are all available for rent close to the bungalow.

Seeing the Nordic Lights illuminating the sky in multiple colors is for many a major attraction that brings them to Lapland. In our village you will have the possibility to see them, if weather permits. You do not need to go anywhere, just step out of the bungalow and enjoy the sensational magic sky.

A selection of pubs and restaurants with delicious local menus are available. The typical Lapland menu includes fresh fish or reindeer meat and other interesting local dishes. All these are available offering a variety of evening entertainment.

The local large supermarket and other stores are within walking distance from the bungalow and there you can get all the provisions needed. Despite being in the middle of Lapland you have available everything you may need. A full service medical center is also available just a short walk from the bungalow.

About Jukka N

I am a professional housebuilder and I have built all these original Lapland log bungalows myself. This is why I can honestly guarantee their quality.

Jukka N purchased this bungalow in 2010

Why Jukka N chose Lapland

These bungalows are larger than average in size. The bungalows have been designed to provide maximum comfort and amenity. The location is in the middle of nature, but still just a short walking distance from many services and restaurants, pubs and shops. The logs are more than 300 years old and have excellent insulation qualities.

What makes this bungalow unique

This area is know for having the best cross country ski tracks and downhill slopes. The nature is unique and on a clear cold night you may be able to see the Northern Lights and the millions of bright stars. Peace and clean snow in a beautiful surrounding, something unique in todays Europe.

Fantastic Christmas holiday!!

  • 5 of 5

This trip to Finland for Christmas was amazing! My kids put it in their top 3 vacations which is saying a lot as Finland was my kids' 50th Country. The cabin was perfect for our cozy Christmas celebration. The host was great, location great and most importantly for teenagers, the wifi worked great. We even saw the Northern Lights from the cabin!! Thank you so much for a truly memorable experience!! My kids are already asking to go back someday :)

Owner's Response: I am so pleased that your family of five enjoyed the stay with us and enjoyed the extreme cold weather experience. I am happy that you felt comfortable in our bungalow and enjoyed the experience. You were very easy to work with and make all the arrangements prior to your arrival. The Nordic Lights gave their best display to you and this is our special winter treat to many of our guests weather permitting. You are most welcome back any time to enjoy our northern hospitality and enjoy our nature. See you soon again. With best wishes you all. Jukka N. Owner

*EXZELLENTE* Unterkunft, sehr empfehlenswert!

  • 5 of 5

Great escape into exotic Lapland

  • 5 of 5

The location is great, the cabin very comfortable, with all the necessary appliances (and a sauna!!) and the owners are the nicest people, ready to help at any time and very friendly.

We are a couple with 2 little girls, from Israel, and the 4 of us enjoyed a wonderful week at the beginning of August 2013 and hope to come back.

Perfect Holidays in the perfect spot

  • 5 of 5

We (a young couple from Switzerland) find Nelimajat while we were organizing our 2 weeks trip in Lapland. We were looking for a nice and cozy traditional cabin and we must say that we found exactly what we wanted.

The cabin was perfect! It looked great from the outside, giving us a true Lappish feeling, and was modern, comfortable and very well equipped in the inside.

We particularly appreciated the sauna build in the bathroom that is perfectly suitable for 3 to 4 persons, the floored heating that made us feel very nice at home, the chimney that gave a romantic touch to our stay and the global laying of the cabin. Everything seemed new and worked without any problem.

During our stay, we only used the ground floor sleeping room as we were just 2 but the cabin is suitable for 5 people. We mostly cooked at home and had everything at hand was it for breakfast or for making diner. We also particularly appreciated the additional small “room” outside the cabin to store our ski equipment.

Regarding the location of the cabin, the cabin is situated in a very nice and quite neighborhood surrounded by other cabins and trees (the cross-skiing slopes are accessible directly via the cabin and you are at walking distance from everything: shops, restaurants, bus stops, agencies etc.). In fact, you have the advantage of being close to the city center without the inconvenience.

Last but not least, the owner is very nice and very helpful. He responded to our different e-mails and answered our questions very rapidly. He provided us with everything we needed and helped us, on the arrival day, to make it to the cabin.

We would really recommend this cabin (or another one from Nelimajat) to anyone who wants to discover the finnish Lapland and is thinking about renting a cabin. Personally, if we had to visit Lapland again, we would for sure rent the same cabin!
