Beautifully Renovated 18th C Townhouse with 4 en-suite Bedrooms & 2 Terraces

Maison Laurier is a recently renovated, luxury 18th century townhouse in the historic centre of Uzes 2 mins walk from the Place aux Herbes. Spacious & bright (180m2 + 30m2 terraces), with exposed stone & beamed ceilings, all 4 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. On the top floor there is a spectacular kitchen & dining area leading onto to 2 separate terraces. The level below offers a large reception room and separate WC. The 4 en-suite bedrooms are on the ground and 1st floors along with a study/TV room and mezzanine level kitchenette/TV room. There is top quality equipment & elegant furnishings/decoration throughout.

As the house has two independent entrances from the street it has been designed on renovation to be rented either as a whole to accomodate groups of up to 8 people or as two independent units for 6 and 2 people respectively.

Having moved back overseas in 2013, we decided to rent our home in Uzès as unfortunately our visits from Australia are far fewer than they were from the UK!

We love the character of the old townhouses in Uzès. We completely renovated this house to expose the beautiful old stonework and beamed ceilings whilst adding a modern, well equipped kitchen and bathrooms in each bedroom. We furnished it elegantly and comfortably, as we would our own home, in the hope that our guests find their home away from home.

What makes this house unique

The house is perfectly located for exploring historic Uzès on foot. With a terrace either side of the kitchen, you will enjoy the amazing light at both sunrise and sunset and understand why we designed the house with the bedrooms on the lower floors and the kitchen and living room on the top floors.

We have had the best of times. Everything you could want in accommodation and the village culture is very relaxed. Easy access to other parts of Provence, sights were great. We will have great memories for years to come.

Nous avons passé 4 jours de Printemps très agréables dans cette maison, sur 4 niveaux, dont une cuisine lumineuse au dernier étage avec 2 terrasses. Très bon accueil et disponibilité pendant le séjour. Les informations du site Abritel étaient conformes à la réalité. A recommander.

Simply wonderful

This townhouse is in a fantastic location, we loved popping out the in mornings for fresh pastries and coffee from one of the many near by boulangeries. Everything is on your doorstep.

The house is in immaculate condition with a well equipped kitchen, it's lovely to be able to open the doors ether side of the kitchen onto two terraces.

Annie, who showed us around was very friendly & helpful.

The only downside was the heat! The house is stone however due to a heatwave the house had got extremely hot and there is no air con. But when speaking to other friends staying in apartments in the area no air con seemed to be the norm and fans were provided in every room.

I would highly recommend this townhouse for a truly authentic French getaway. Thank you Stephanie.

A very successful rental experience

This is a very well presented property that was a pleasure to stay in. The owner was very helpful and easy to deal with as we made the arrangements and the on-the-spot host who met us was excellent. The property is ideal for exploring Uzes itself and the town is well located for exploring the region. We had a wonderful week and have no hesitation in recommending this property.

A family holiday made of dreams....

We took my mother-in-law to Uzes for her 80th birthday. It was our gift to her! We travelled all the way from Australia to visit her in the South of England and thought, the perfect gift would be holiday for her. Well, we all loved it. People in Australia dream about immersing themselves in a French Village for a week, but how many of us actually get to do it? Such an amazing experience for us all , including our two boys who are 9 and 14. It was a dream come true and Uzes completely exceeded our expectations, along with Maison Laurier. The townhouse lived up to its expectations also, we all cheered and said "it's exactly like the brochure" - which meant the pictures we viewed on the internet. It was just a perfect location, in a perfect setting with the perfect amenities for all ages. And now, we have all the beautiful memories. Thank you, our dream came true!

Our stay in Uzes was made perfect by the townhouse...everything was great...well maintained, exactly as decribed online, in the best position in town and for local touring. The people were very friendly and patient with non French speaking tourists. We did not want to leave, recommend to anyone wanting to see French Provence.

A Perfect Experience.

Everything about this wonderful townhome and its location exceeded our expectations. The online photos and descriptions are wonderful, but cannot describe the exceptional level of care and maintenance Although renovated several years ago, everything looks brand new. Finding any accommodation in France where each bedroom has its own modern bathroom and the living room has a half bath is almost a miracle. While the living room on the third floor and the study on the first floor are comfortable and lovely, we found that we spent most of our time visiting or studying our French in the fourth floor kitchen, either at the kitchen table or on one of the two lovely terraces. This was the place for sunlight and breezes. Uzes is a charming and friendly town, and the townhouse is a five minute walk to the central square and market place, with only one car active street to cross. The townhouse is one a narrow street that allows only temporary parking for things like unloading luggage. With few exceptions, there was no traffic noise during the day, and at night, all is quiet. Parking was only a few building away, and was no problem once we learned how to get there on the local streets. The knowledgeable caretaker was most helpful in answering our questions and providing assistance. In summary, a great place and a great value.

Uzès is a beautifully preserved medieval market town on the edge of Provence. It is easily accessible by air (Nimes, Montpellier & Marseille) & train (Avignon, Nimes TGV/Eurostar). There are many local attractions to suit all ages and tastes, ranging from the famous Roman aqueduct called the Pont du Gard, to local wine-tasting in the Rhone & Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the Ducal château & cathedral, antique shops/fairs...and for kids, visits to the Haribou sweet factory, kayaking on the local river Gardon & the Bouscarasse Water Park. Uzès is known for its summer dance & classical music programs as well as the traditional festivals with bull-running through the streets. Local facilities are excellent, with an open air public swimming pool in the town & tennis courts, bike hire & great walks/hikes/runs. The local produce is spectacular and there is a wide range of restaurants and bars catering to every taste & budget. There are many interesting shops and boutiques in Uzès...with clothes, home decoration & jewellery well represented. Many of the surrounding villages are very beautiful and only 1 hour away are Mediterranean beaches, the Camargue area and the spectacular gorges and plateaux of the Cevennes & Gorges du Tarn. The famous towns of Avignon, Nimes & Arles are all within 45 minutes of Uzès.
