Welcome to "Gone to Carolina," our newly renovated cottage in Dewey Beach/Rehoboth by the Sea. This charming home features 7 bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, custom dining table for 10+, front courtyard landscaped for privacy, an oversized balcony with ocean views, and a heated, in-ground, saltwater, backyard pool. The stunning home offers old Dewey charm combined with the luxury of new construction. With multiple living spaces, there is plenty of room for several families to spread out in the main living area, screened porch, front courtyard, rooftop deck, and backyard pool. There is ample parking for 5+ cars, the beach is a mere steps away at the end of the block, and the Jolly Trolley stops a block away. Need a little more detail? Please, read on! The goals for this property were many: lots of bedrooms and comfortable, clean sleeping options, a variety of gathering spots, a gourmet kitchen featuring everything you would have at home, and seating at the table/island/work station for literally everyone. Finally, we wanted to maintain the charm of an old Dewey cottage while also updating all (ALL) amenities, so no detail has been left out here. We added central HVAC, a full sized-washer/dryer, 2 hot water heaters with boosters (NO cold showers here), an outside shower, a BIG fridge and dishwasher that will actually clean the dishes so you can go to the beach! We have stocked the home with board games, and a variety of historical items from the 60s & 70s for kids to play with, such as old telephones, typewriter, encyclopedias, and more. The mature landscaping was preserved, and we added dozens of trees, bushes, palms and pots with flowering plants. With parking for 5/6+ cars (depending what you drive), you will be able to park and walk everywhere, and as mentioned before, the Jolly Trolley stops only a block away.

The Perfect Beach House!

This property is amazing - close to the beach and to both downtown Rehoboth and Dewey. We loved being able to walk everywhere, but also that there was plenty of parking at the house! The house was extremely well equipped - we cooked every meal there with no issues. The pool was wonderful and all the games at the house made for such a fun stay! Lyn was so easy to communicate with both leading up to and during our trip! We will definitely be coming back.

Rehoboth by the Sea - R&R at its Best

Our family very much enjoyed our late August stay! The ability to walk to the beach, return for lunch, swim, and go back to the beach at night was fantastic. The property is comfortable and well appointed for a family stay. The kids loved the old school candy machine, Hess trucks, games and much more. Great memories made all around!

Delightful Stay in Dewey

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Carolina Street. Of all the houses we’ve rented in Rehoboth/Dewey this was our favorite. The location can’t be beat. You can easily walk into Rehoboth and Dewey from here. Also, it’s a quick walk to the beach which is less congested here than to the north and south. Bathroom space is limited. However if you love an outdoor shower as I do, it won’t be a problem. The kids especially loved jumping in the pool after returning from the beach. The house met all of our needs. Lyn immediately responded to our questions. We will be returning in the future!

Great location!!

Very cute house! Pool was amazing to have for our 4 kids ages 10-15. Perfect location for older ones to bike to Rehobeth boardwalk alone, and for younger ones to walk to and from the beach. Would definitely recommend!

We met in Dewey in 1989 on St. Louis Street, and never really left. We raised 3 kids in Dewey, spending summers here on St. Louis Street, and in 2016, we packed-up the family and moved to town full-time. This is the 4th house we have remodeled in Dewey, and we believe we are getting better with each house. Why they chose this property

We bought this house with the stated purpose of making it an amazing family vacation rental. After flipping a couple houses in Dewey, when we found this property we knew that it had so much potential, for a variety of reasons. First, it is in the beach block on beautiful Carolina Street, known for is quiet uncrowded beach and many homes that have been in familes for generations. The oversized backyard was perfect for a big, fun pool, and was surrounded by mature trees for privacy. The house is situated in the lot perfectly, so there is room to park a bunch of cars - if you know Dewey, you get why this is a huge plus! And to top it off, the charming landscaped front courtyard is going to be a beautiful hideaway for someone who wants to escape the family outside. We are making every effort to retain the cottage charm of this house, while adding all amenities. We hope you will find it as quaint and comfortable as we are aiming to make it. We put together a book of all our favorite attractions in-and-around town, which means we have had to eat at every wonderful restaurant in Rehoboth and Dewey... All we can say is, they're all great! And lastly, why this property? Being from North Carolina, I always aspired to do a home on Carolina Street. And as James Taylor fans, we knew this home would make vacationers love being "Gone to Carolina."

COVID-19 RELATED CLEANING UPDATES

We have studied the industry standards for hotels and short-term rentals, and are implementing all applicable recommendations, surpassing many. Although there is hard science showing that the virus does not live on surfaces, we are taking precautions to limit the “touchable” surfaces in our homes. Some examples include: Removing most throw blankets and decorative pillows from the home; Removing many countertop decorative items; Disinfecting books and games, and storing in cabinets or closets; Limiting bedding to pillows with zippered covers, freshly laundered mattress pads, and one simple bed covering per bed. Removing all beach chairs and umbrellas, where applicable.
