About Donna D - Homeaway/VRBO Member since May 2001
I currently reside in Manhattan, but enjoy my home in the off-season when it's not rented. I own a home staging business where I help home sellers make their homes look their best in order to sell quickly and for the best possible price.

Why Donna D - Homeaway/VRBO Member since May 2001 chose East Hampton
The Hamptons are a great location to be in - whether to live or to visit. I fell in love with East Hampton while living out there for a summer and working at a bed and breakfast to see if buying and owning a B&B was what I wanted to do. Well, I decided it wasn't for me, but I ended up buying a house out there instead. What is so great about it is that it is the perfect combination of New York City people, culture, restaurants and shopping AND some of the most beautiful natural scenery in this country: beach, bays, blue skies, beautiful hiking trails, and more. I love going out there all year round - the off-season in Fall and Spring are the best.
What makes this House unique
Located close to bay beaches, scenic vistas of the bays and Accabonac Harbor for fishing, boating, paddle boarding and kayaking, as well as close to the Springs Historic District with the Pollock Krasner House, a general store with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables to enjoy your breakfast and lunch, a Saturday farmer's market and frequent art shows. Also close to several restaurants on Three Mile Harbor offering scenic vistas and beautiful sunsets.

Beautiful, Clean and Inviting Home!
Donna was nothing short of the hostess with the mostess! We were overly impressed at the size of Donna’s home, how incredibly clean the property was- both inside and out, and proximity to the town of east hampton and beaches.
If you are looking for a peaceful backdrop, impeccable landscaped grounds and a sense of tranquility- RENT THIS HOME!
5 star experience :-)
Thank you Suzette! It was a pleasure hosting you and your friends and glad you enjoyed my home and the area.
Serene, private location
The home is beautiful and well-appointed and has everything you need to be comfortable. The pool is gorgeous but the water is very cold and a pool heater would be a big plus. Also wished there was more than basic cable.
Dear Rachel and Bill, thank you for the compliments on my home. You were both lovely people who left my house exactly as you found it, and I would definitely like to have you back next summer.
I am sorry that you found the pool to be very cold (by the way, I went in the pool after you checked out and though a bit cold, I found it refreshing as it was very hot that day, but water temperature is definitely a personal preference). I had a pool heater at one time and it broke. No one used it for the two summers prior to it breaking so I decided at that time the $4,000 cost seemed like a waste of money. I think because it cost renters about $12/hour to heat the pool, and it needs to run for many hours, including possibly overnight to keep it warm if the air temperature is cool, they chose not to use it. But I have gotten requests lately for a heated pool, so may reconsider. It really is only needed in June and September. The pool warms up in July and August.
Regarding the cable TV, I have the middle tier of the 3 tiers available, but the addition of premium channels like HBO, Showtime and Cinemax is too costly. I have not had anyone request that before as it seems most people who rent in the summer are out and about at the pool or beach or out to dinner or are exploring the area rather than at home watching TV.
Every year eight of us from college catch up for a week of reconnecting. Finding a house is usually our biggest obstacle. We each need our own bed. We need a large open area to gather. We need a table large enough to fit the group.
When we walked into our East Hampton house, we all were wowed. Did we really find a perfect house. Yes, we did! It had everything we needed and more.
Donna met us, and gave us an introductory tour, and we immediately felt right at home. We can't thank Donna enough for all she does to make her home a true gem of the Hamptons. She was more than helpful with her recommendations, and her very thorough information kit in the house was better than using a computer to access information.
This was the best house we have ever rented, and we recommend it without any hesitation. Thank you Donna.
Joanne, wow! Thank you! It was a pleasure hosting you and your group. I am so glad you enjoyed the house. I know you like to change the venue each year, but please know you are welcome back any time.
