Fun in Flag
Our stay was awesome. The house is in a great location to hike and mountain bike the flagstaff area. The property is in a quiet neighborhood in the forest. Love how you can take a walk or hike right outside the back door. Having a key code door lock is awesome. no keys to lose.

Family gathering
Matt was very nice and easy to contact when needed. Had a problem with WiFi the night we arrived but Matt was able to get it resolved by the next morning. Plenty of room for everyone and very clean.

Flagstaff is great, this place has some quirks
A tall step into the house and the steep stairway to the upstairs made this home unsuitable for anyone with knee, hip or other mobility issues. The owner installed a handrail when I arrived which helped, but it's still quirky. The cleaning service that was responsible for the sparkling clean comments is no longer taking care of this house. When I arrived, there was dried food on plates/bowls, utensils and pots/pans. Also a dirty oven, sticky cabinet and drawer fronts and handles in the kitchen were beyond acceptable. There were muddy child hand prints on door frames and windows. The “new” cleaning service came back for a re-do, but reported that I was “rude” for pointing out the problems. Bi-weekly cleaning was included with my rental agreement; should have totaled 5 cleaning visits, only 2 occurred and one was canceled by the owner without notifying me. I was not offered compensation for the missed services or to buy cleaning supplies (no mop). Mowing the grass was included in the services to be provided per our documented discussions. However, it was not mowed all year. The owner said he liked it “natural.” The back yard has tall (some of it 3') grass and there are many dry Ponderosa pine needles on the ground, on the roof and in the rain gutters. Since there is no water to the outside faucets, usie of the fire pit and propane grill is a fire hazardous. The house is in a cell phone dead space, although Verizon calls connect sometimes. I told the owner of my need for cell phone reception and he suggested I go about ½ mile down the road where I could probably get reception. This is not practical if you need to receive as well as make calls. Luckily for me, a neighbor enlightened me about WiFi Calling and I was able to make and receive calls. This is a very funky place which I usually enjoy. However, no back cushions on the couch (just throw pillows), pet stains on the carpet, and the general lack of cleanliness exceeded my tolerance. The house is in a beautiful location and is spacious. If the above described issues don't concern you, lucky you. If they do, my review will let you know in advance of things I wish I had been aware of before booking the house for 3 months. By the time I arrived for the summer, it was too late to make other arrangements. I tried to get the owner to amend his listing to address these issues, but he declined to participate in either verbal or written "communication."

Great stay!
My young adult son and I stayed for a week. We obviously didn't need all the space, but it was lovely. Everything was just as described and the access to the backyard/national forest was perfect. Easy to get into the house with the keypad. We didn't use outdoor barbecue or such things because it was still snowing in the morning for several mornings. Great location for access to Grand Canyon locations as well as Sedona. There is a general store within walking distance, but at least at this time of year, there was virtually nothing to purchase aside from alcohol. So, it would be wise to stock up on basic things that you might need before you arrive. Great stay!
