This adobe house was lovingly redone by us to be the office of our puppet and object theatre. (Our workshop is east of the house.) We've moved our office and now offer the house to travelers. The house is modest outside and interestingly contemporary inside. In the spring and summer, there are lilacs, roses, peaches, apples and grapes (100+ year old vine) growing around the property.
Please note: the cooling system is central evaporative cooling, not refrigerated air. This system is widely used in New Mexico, where the climate is dry.
The house has two bedrooms, with a queen bed in one and a twin bed in the second bedroom. Futon possibility in the living room. Sleeps 3-4 comfortably. There is lots of light and gorgeous hard wood floors.
Easy access to downtown, major freeways (I-25 and I-40), public transportation, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Old Town, museums, the Nature Center and the Albuquerque Bio Park and Botanic Garden and La Montanita Organic Food Co-op.
The house has welcomed friends from around the world and is ready for the next guests. Your two hosts, who live three miles away, speak French, German, Spanish and English.
There's a small library that includes art and puppetry books, and good coffee and tea in the breakfast area of the house.
There's an organic food co-op and a vegetarian restaurant both within 7 minutes by car. And other good restaurants including farm to table fresh cuisine. And the train stations to catch the local Rail Runner to Santa Fe are super close.
We are happy to share our knowledge of the area, if you desire!
