Well-appointed home-away-from-home
This was like our second home and a base of operations to go out and enjoy the parks and railroads around it. The location was great, the decor was very well-done and rustic. There were plenty of kitchen tools and utensils for cooking our own meals. We enjoyed the wide selection of DVDs, the games and the jigsaw puzzles. The gas grill was a thoughtful bonus, so we picked up steaks on the way in from town. The only surprise was arriving and learning there was no air conditioning. However, judicious opening and closing of windows in early June allowed us to capture the cool night air and retain it except for one hour in the afternoon where it started to feel rather warm. For the season we stayed, it wasn’t a problem — just a surprise. On the days between expeditions where we just stayed there for rest, it was a very comfortable place to laze around and recharge. Communication with the host was wonderful, and she was very helpful.

Why they chose this property

This was my Grandparents home for 50 years until they passed away several years ago, hence the name, The Marotta Homestead. I had always loved visiting the area when I was a child so it was an easy decision to purchase this property. I hope you love it as much as we do.
