Lake Raponda: A tucked away lake, approximately 1/2 mile wide and 2 miles long. Mountain View Association beach (5 min. walk) is sandy with gradual drop off, dock and swimming float. Note: Our association beach is shared and can become crowded on summer weekends. For the enjoyment of all, during summer months renters are to plan beach time for weekdays and to use weekends for shopping and to enjoy the many other activities in the Mount Snow valley. Renters also have access to the two local public beaches --- Town of Wilmington Beach (20-min. walk, or 5 min. drive) - a favorite of families with young children because of its large gradual beach, picnic tables and grills - or the State Park Beach on Lake Whitingham (10 min. by car) - a favorite of teens - on both weekdays and weekends.
Town of Wilmington and area: Small Vermont crossroads village with restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and boutiques. Laundromat, pharmacy, grocery store, bakery. Flea Market on Saturdays and Sundays. In the Mount Snow Valley: mountain biking, hiking, tennis courts, candlepin bowling (lanes with bumpers for young children), two 18-hole golf courses, candlepin bowling. Winter: downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing.
Hiking and walking.: Our favorites: East Branch Trail (streams, beaver ponds, hike to reservoir). Molly Stark (short hike to fire tower with great views. Camping sites). Local walking on country roads and marked hiking trails.
