Good getaway

Place is as advertised. Well maintained and with all of the things we needed for the week. Pool and hot tub a good bonus with the rainy weather. Small pond in the back has overflowed onto lawn due to season's above normal rainfall. Could not figure out a way to get boats to the larger pond across the street which is still closed from flooding. Nice birds in the area (ducks, geese, goldfinch, kingfisher, many others).

Stay at Ludlow Property

I didn't personally stay but we had a crew of guys staying there to help with the flooding and the house in Ludlow was a perfect home away from home for them for approx. three weeks. Would definitely recommend. The owners are very nice, polite and accommodating.

Excellent home and location

This place is great. We are well travelled VRBO users and this place hit all the things we like to find. The common areas of the home are large and gave us lots of room for our extended family get away.

I (Sue) have been coming up to ski at Okemo since I was a child - my family belonged to the Sikorsky Ski Club. Okemo is a mountain for all levels of skiing in such a lovely town. Our kids are now grown and scattered but we had so many wonderful ski weekends at the house when they were young. Now we mostly enjoy paddling in our pond or in the lake across the street in summer and snow shoeing in winter, and of course the pool and hot tub! We lived in the Middle East for a few years and have lovely antiques and rugs in the house that we brought back with us.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I bought the house in 2001 and have made many improvements since including the addition and the pool. We fell in love with it at first sight! First the perfect location, close to the mountain, yet private. The original owner was a farmer and talented violin maker who build the house in 1905 when he was 71! The barn still has the milking stations for his cows. The house has a farmhouse feel and retains many of the original features yet is so comfortable and roomy for modern living.

What makes this property unique

Perfect location: proximity to the mountain for skiing but wonderful also for summer - swimming in the pool, paddling or frog catching in our pond or sitting on the porch in the morning enjoying coffee and the fabulous views of the lake across the street and of Okemo Mountain.
