About the host
Hosted by Maggie and Norm Owners of VRBO#1050002 and #1052482.
We love hosting our guests and offering them a wonderful experience. Our goal is to make a beautiful, clean and comfortable home for you at the beach, to think of as yours and to return to often. We live a few blocks away and will assist you with any details during your stay.
Why they chose this property
There is nothing like the Plantation for the best vacation ever! There are many walking paths, bike paths and golf courses in this Audubon International Sanctuary.
Amelia Island is well loved by travelers and is listed in the book, “1,000 Places To See Before You Die,” describing how past and present co-exist with some of the choicest and most pristine beaches along the Florida coast.
Making Amelia Island our home was an easy decision based on all the wonderful things to do in the area. When we saw this villa we knew we could turn it into a special vacation place and we think we have. We hope you thinks so too.

What makes this property unique
The condo is located in a lush coastal hammock forest and sand dunes. The developers left much of the tree canopies intact, to give a wonderful feeling of privacy and serenity. Located in the Plantation in a natural setting with large live oak trees and Spanish Moss on the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, close to the Intracoastal Waterway. A secure gated resort filled with many amenities, recreation and relaxation! Just steps south of Sandcastles Villas is a shaded boardwalk leading to the Sunken Forest, which provides various high vantage points for viewing wildlife and photography of the beaches and beyond. Also located within the resort are salt marshes and parks which are great for kayaking, fishing, picnicking, playgrounds and grilling. Not to be missed are the beautiful marsh view sunsets in Walkers Landing and Drummond Point. These parks on the other side of the Plantation offer free Ping Pong, Pickle Ball Courts, Basketball Court and Petanque court(we supply the racquets and balls). There are many walking paths and golf courses in this Audubon International Sanctuary. For longer bike rides there are bike trails outside the resort that connect Amelia Island with Talbot Island.
Amelia Island is 13 miles long and between one and 2.5 miles wide, on the northeastern corner of Florida. Fernandina Beach is a delightful Victorian seaport village with art galleries, shopping, great restaurants, bars and a history museum, only about a 15 minute drive away. There are Florida State Parks on both the north and south ends of the island. The north one is Fort Clinch, which is a historical fort in a wonderful natural environment for walking and a great historical place to visit. The southern side of the island has a beach and is a fishing paradise.
Jacksonville International Airport and Cruise Ship Terminals are about 30-45 minutes away, with taxi service.
