A stunning new beach front home overlooking the Caribbean Sea and offering panoramic views of Barbados' south coast. This fresh, modern and tastefully furnished property offers 3 bedrooms, three bathrooms: A king and a queen, each with en suite bathrooms(one including a bathtub),and a third bedroom with two trundle-beds perfect for up to 4 children. The living and dining room are open plan, and lead onto a large covered patio looking out onto the ocean. There is a modern kitchen fitted out with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and Italian kitchen cabinets. The garden opens out onto the beach. The property is very close to Oistins and a short distance away from St. Lawrence Gap and other south coast beaches, restaurants, shops, etc.

Designed by local architect, Mark Hiorns, the property is classic Barbadian in style on the outside with a clean contemporary interior, equipped with every modern amenity. It was completed in Summer 2012.

My wife and I were able to spend two wonderful weeks at Turtle Bottom

this past summer. The house was beautifully decorated in an upscale,

modern yet homey, comfortable style. The back of Turtle Bottom opens

up into a spacious patio and fenced in back yard that overlooks the

pristine Caribbean sea. The beach there is beautiful. We were able to

soak, fish, cast net, and even boogie board at times. We had taken our

3 month old son with us on the trip and found the accommodations to be

convenient, comfortable and safe.

It was fun to be able to go right down the street to the supermarket,

Oistins fish market or Cheffette.

Our two week stay fabulous and I would recommend it to anyone.

  • The master and third bathroom, have walk-in showers with glass screens, no step. The second has a bath with shower. There are several towel rails in each bathroom including in the showers for wet swimsuits. Each has a sleek modern European console with deep drawers for maximum storage and illuminated mirrors. The third bathroom has a mirrored cabinet with interior mirrors on the doors. There is a hair-dryer. There are power and shaver points in each bathroom. There are plentiful bath and beach towels provided and a washer and drier on-site.

  • The master bedroom has air-conditioning and a ceiling fan, a walk-in closet, a safe, an en suite bathroom, and opens onto a wide verandah with stunning views out to sea. The second bedroom also has AC and a ceiling fan, a wall of closets,an en suite bathroom with shower and tub, and opens onto the garden with an equally sensational sea view. The third bedroom is airy with AC, ceiling fan,ample cupboards and bed drawers for storage. The twin trundle beds are very adaptable, and can be pushed together to form a Queen size bed or up to four singles (twins).

There is no need for a car, but there is off street parking for several. The bus stop is right outside and a bus ride to Bridgetown costs $1 US. There is reasonable wheelchair accessibility, one step to the front door, the living area, bathrooms and verandah are all on one level and there are two steps to the garden and sandy beach. There are no grab bars or low sinks. There is a washer and drier in a spacious laundry cupboard which opens off the open-plan living area. In the kitchen there is a UK 220v plug available.

Probably one of the nicest vacation rentals we have stayed in!

Beautiful home right on a fabulous sand beach. Very well maintained and great location close to Oistens ( easy walk to the fish fry, fresh fish market and grocery store. Easy access to bus and route taxi which will take you just about anywhere on the island for 2 Barbados dollars. Excellent property highly recommended.

We were a group of 4 adults and 4 kids and Turtlebottom was perfect for us. The bedrooms are large and there was space for everyone. We spent most of our time outside on the very large deck and on the beautiful beach. The kitchen was fully stocked and we had everything we needed. There was even a blender! The villa was very clean and all furnishings and decor were top notch. There were even boogie boards and floats available for us to use and a safe too.. There were also board games, books and magazines, but we didn't discover these until our last day.

We were hesitant in booking this villa because the owner did not accept credit cards for payment, but after speaking to him, I sent my payments by cheque and was so happy to see Shaun at the airport when we arrived. From the airport, Shaun dropped the kids and Dads off at the villa and took the Moms to the grocery store to stock up for the week. The large grocery store was less than a 10 minute walk and offered a shuttle back to the villa with your groceries. There is a good selection of restaurant options within walking distance as well. We did not need to rent a car and found the bus stop right outside was just perfect and we used the buses for the entire week. We have rented many vacation villas in Canada and the US and this was one of the very best we have stayed in. We all had a great vacation and the kids are already asking when we can return to Turtlebottom. It was our first time in Barbados, and we all fell in love with the island and can't wait to go back.

Beautiful home with breathtaking views

Our family and friends just came back from Turtlebottom and we already want to plan our next trip! David was so easy to work with and made our arrival smoothe! The pictures don't do the house justice. We were more than pleased with the cleanliness and layout of the home, although most of our time was spent outdoors. The patio is a great size for outdoor dining and relaxing and the beach is steps away. The view was truly incredible! We had a wonderful vacation and our accommodations at Turtlebottom exceeded our expectations!

The Perfect Villa for our Vacation

Thank you David and Sam for the wonderful hospitality we received at your villa. The property far exceeded our expectations and was so well appointed from the well stocked kitchen to the large open layout through to the large selection of toys to play with in the sea and the ice machine for the perfect evening beverage. The villa is located conveniently close to Oistens where there is a supermarket, fresh fish market and the popular Friday evening fish fry. St Lawrence Gap is a close bus or taxi ride away where there are many restaurants and resorts. Many thanks to Sean for helping with our transportation and touring needs. We would have been lost (literally) without him. Best of all is the beach right outside the door. Just open the white picket gate and step onto the beach, swim with the turtles (we saw 2-3 every morning) or sit on the covered patio and watch the sunset over the waves. This villa was perfect for us and our group of 7 are already planning our next visit.

Lovely modern home located directly on a quiet beach. Easy access to amenities and St. Lawrence Gap.

The house is conveniently located near Oistins. It is very well laid out with an excellent floor plan that provides a spacious central dining area, well appointed kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms.

Situated directly on the beach, the home includes a large private patio deck that is well landscaped. The deck provides a comfortable seating area to enjoy the lovely sunsets. The ample patio furniture is clean and modern. It is very pleasant to spend the entire day on the deck with periodic forays onto the beach for a refreshing swim and stroll.

Conveniently located outside the home is a bus stop to facilitate easy access to Bridgetown, The Gap, and other points of interest. A ten minute walk brings you to a shopping area for groceries and other amenities. The Oistins fish market is also close at hand for a good selection of fresh fish which can readily be cooked on the barbecue provided by the owners on the patio deck.

The owners are very pleasant and respond immediately to questions or maintenance issues that arise. All said, this is indeed a very good property and location for a thoroughly enjoyable vacation. Highly recommended.

Maxwell Beach is centrally located on the South Coast,15 minutes from the Airport and 15 minutes to the capital Bridgetown. Oistins which has the famous outdoor street party and Fish-fry every weekend is within walking distance or 1 minute on the bus (the bus stop is directly outside). This fishing village also has a large supermarket, bank, 24hr convenience store,pharmacy, petrol station, The Surfers Café and fast food outlets.

St Lawrence Gap which is the social centre of the south coast, a street with bars, restaurants and clubs, is a five minute bus ride away. There is also fine dining available all the way from here to Bridgetown. The property is a tranquil retreat,the garden gate opens directly onto the beach.
