About this property

Beautiful A frame house with great views of Mt Lincoln and Mt Bross

This home is ideal for a couple willing to spend quality time in a peaceful environment. Only 12 miles south of Breckenridge, and at the same time, far enough to avoid the crowds.
Situated in beautiful Placer Valley, this home is meant for those seeking beauty, peace and quiet. With so many outdoor activities to choose from, it's almost impossible to become bored. Ideal for hikers, skiers, anglers, climbers, or just those seeking to relax on the front porch and enjoy the surrounding views and abundant wildlife.
Easy access from Highway 9 and into the driveway, on a 1.5 acre heavily wooded lot, but still with lots of sunshine in every room.
There's a spacious living/kitchen area on the main level, with a wood burning stove to keep you warm in cool nights. Bathroom is also on main level.
There's a small bedroom upstairs with magnificent views of Mt. Lincoln and Montgomery Reservoir, with a comfortable king size bed.
Stairs to bedroom is steep. Not for people with knee injuries. Please, be aware that the house is above 11.000 feet elevation.
Closest town is Alma, 5 miles to the south, with a bar/ restaurant, a small coffee shop, and some other small business. Fairplay is another 11 miles from Alma, with more dining and shopping opportunities. South Park City is a restored mining town in Fairplay, worth visiting, and open only in the summer.
Very unique setting in the heart of the Rockies.

Exceeded my expectations! Wonderful retreat!
I was seeking solitude and a connection with nature, and a home that fit my style. That's exactly what I got here! It's a mixture of zen and southwest art in a beautiful, clean, comfortable cabin. The deck in the trees was perfect and I loved sitting out and watching the sunrise and sunset, the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. It had everything I needed and the communication with the owner was perfect. Cecilia was very attentive and wanted to make sure my stay was exactly as I hoped. She was a pleasure to rent from. I can't wait to return! Absolutely beautiful!

Beautiful, Comfortable, Quiet, Outstanding
Cecilia's cabin is one of the nicest, most welcoming places we have ever stayed. Her description of the location and amenities was spot on, she responded quickly and thoughtfully to all communications, and she was more than helpful with questions and a couple personal issues. The cabin is beautiful, designed with skill and love, fully provisioned. We felt she had thought of everything. Her description of things to be aware of was very accurate and useful, e.g., there is a narrow stairway to the loft which must be ascended/descended carefully and the cabin is at a very high elevation (over 11,000') so make sure to acclimatize carefully. In sum, we loved this place and would definitely recommend it.

Wonderful property and owner!
This was a wonderful place to stay. The property owner, Cecelia, was very attentive; the house is cozy, well-furnished (even provided things like Ziploc bags), and had a very comfortable bed. We were able to cook all our own meals, including grilling steaks on the gas grill outside, and had plenty of bedding (even extra pillows), hot water for showers, internet access, and TV if we wanted to relax in the evening. We enjoyed watching the birds at the bird feeders (bird seed provided), and even had a little red fox run across the deck one morning. The view out the front was gorgeous. The location was perfect - close to where we planned to hike (Quandary Peak), outside of the hustle of towns, but close enough to drive to get ice cream one evening. Cecelia provided information about the local area which allowed us to visit a location where we were able to see a small herd of mountain goats. We hope to be able to stay here again in the future if we visit Colorado!

Peaceful weekend in the woods
This cabin was adorable! It was everything we were hoping for - a clean, quiet, and comfortable retreat in the mountains. The views were wonderful and the birds and chipmunks were fun to watch. The only slight drawback was the lingering odor of cigarette smoke. But after you’re inside for a few minutes you don’t notice it any longer. The owner was super helpful with suggestions of things to do in the area and very friendly. Overall it was a great experience.

What makes this property unique

Our idea of renting our home is addressed to a couple seeking a private, romantic getaway in a peaceful environment. There's plenty of room to accommodate more guests, but it has not been our goal. We want our guests feel comfortable with the given space.
There's abundant wildlife in the valley and in the yard. Deer, squirrels, chipmunks, pine martens, ermines, many different kind of birds, and, even moose and bears.
I find it priceless and would love to host somebody that would share this same interest.
