Four adults and three teens stayed here for a MLK weekend of skiing at Stratton. Stratton was packed, but we had no trouble (or traffic) getting there from this house. The nonskier spent a day happily wandering around Manchester Center, and another at Stratton village. The house is cozy, quiet, and well-maintained, and the owners are very helpful. The double bed mattress is firm, thank goodness - I've had weekends ruined by sagging mattresses. I didn't try the other beds, but heard no complaints. We moved the twin beds in the 2nd BR together for the other couple. Caveat for families with small kids: no railings on upper bunks at this point. The teens were fine.

It's an easy drive to get to the Shaw's supermarket. Cheap gas and good root beer at the Stewart's, which is like a Baskin & Robbins in a 7-Eleven store. We had a nice dinner out at Garlic John's, a couple of miles down the road.

It was about a 3 1/2 hour drive from the Boston area, leaving right at the 5pm rush hour, and including a stop for burgers in Brattleboro. Just under 3 hrs to get back home.

Great place to stay.

This house was perfect for what we were looking for. We had 3 families traveling to race at Stratton Mt for the weekend. We had 4 adults and 4 kids. All of us had a bed and were able to cook breakfast and dinner each day. The owner was very responsive when we submitted our reservation. The commute was only 15 min to Stratton. I would recommend it and would stay again if we do this trip again.

Shhh. This is my secret spot.

I love staying here. Very cozy and Quik to get to Stratton or Bromley. Great for Families. Owners are very helpful and friendly. If your looking for a place that feels like a home away from home you made for yourself this is it. And the Snow this week when we ducked out to beat Juno was the best I have been in at Steatton ever.

Exceeded Expectations; Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

Pictures don't do justice. Roomier than expected; sleeping 7 adults comfortably. Rented over Christmas holiday based on proximity to multiple ski resorts. In 7 days skied 3 mountains (Stratton, Bromley and Mount Snow) all a short drive from cottage. Kitchen well supplied: pots, pans dishes, etc. Loved the wood stove for relaxing after a day of skiing or shopping in nearby Manchester and Weston. Well stocked wood pile provided for nightly fires. Owner extremely helpful. Will rent again.
