Sea front in a quay, large attached 130 sq.m fishermen's house in 3 levels renovated with a contemporary spirit and comfortable to live, for relaxing vacations with family or friends. Completely oriented towards the sea, absolutely amazing views towards the outer harbour and tides, comings and goings of fishing and pleasure boats at high tide and the sand during low tide. Very calm. The gulls' flight in front of the window and covered fish market just a few metres away. Very functional equipment, large living room with sea views and spacious equipped kitchen, 3-4 bedrooms (5 or 6 people), 3 functional shower rooms (shower cubicle), 4 toilets. Carefully decorated (during 2013-2014), antique and designed charming furniture, simple and easy to use equipment.

CD's and books provided for your comfort and enjoyment in front of the windows...

Ideal location to visit landing beaches (10 km away from the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in Omaha Beach, Arromanches, Bayeux). Authentic fishermen's village, all shopping facilities locally all year long. Parking available in the quay and free parking nearby.

Wonderful, wonderful ...

We, 3 couples, spent six days at La Mer est Bell. It was a wonderful and comfortable accommodation. It is perfectly situated for touring all the D-Day sites plus. The village of Port-en-Bessin Huppian has all variety of good restaurants and shops. Sunday's open market is a must. We can't say enough good about the place. Laurence was a gracious and helpful host.

Perfect Normandy home base.

I'm so glad we found Laurence's lovely house! It was huge, quiet, right on the water and so beautiful we didn't mind staying in when it rained. My family of four had three floors to spread out over, but we spent most of our time in the lovely kitchen/living area cooking, eating, reading and just watching the tide. The town had a great Sunday market, a nearby grocery store and right across from the house, a fish market! I took several walks on the cliffs nearby, and we made easy drives to Bayeux and the D-day sights.

Laurence herself was very helpful, and we were lucky enough to have brunch at her pop up cafe. Highly recommend.

The house was exactly as described and well stocked with kitchen items & very clean. The house was in an excellent location in a very quaint seaside village. Laurence was very helpful & easy to deal with. We had wonderful time & loved the house. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Wonderful Holiday Location and Accommodation

The house is beautifully situated, right on the Harbour front, and beautifully appointed inside. Everything you could want, well stocked kitchen, comfortable sitting area, very efficient storage heaters. The ensures were to a high standard, and the bed was big and comfortable. Wonderful views from all rooms, loads of bars for evening fun, and such a good base for the D-Day museums, Bayeaux, and not to far to Mont San Michel. One of the best Holiday accommodations we have had, and Laurence so efficient to deal with making it a stress free holiday .booking

Excellent property

We spent a week in this lovely property which was the best accommodation we have ever had on numerous visits to France. It is so well situated, being close to all the main Normandy sights and is a really excellent base. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Port-en-Bessin is a lovely little town with a nice market on Sunday morning. Laurence was very welcoming and helpful and took the time to come and visit us when we missed her at her pop-up shop. I am really picky about my holiday accommodation but would recommend this unreservedly.

Four Americans in Normandy for a week.

We arrived Saturday evening to find very quaint small town Norman accommodations with an equally accommodating owner who took the time to show us around town and introduce us to shop owners, particularly grocery. The flat was physically exactly as advertised, but words could not accurately describe the charming location; immediately across the street from an historic waterfront used during D-Day and a thriving fresh catch fish market; the Sunday Town market is wonderful. The flat was well appointed with utensils, linens, etc.(wi-fi worked fine) and very clean and orderly. Parking turned out to be a non-issue and shopping/restaurants are within easy walking distance. We used this flat as home base for a week of sightseeing; D-Day beaches, Cider Trail, Bayeux Tapestry, etc. We would highly recommend these accommodations for location, value, small town Normandy experience and central location away from hustle and bustle.
