Out of this world!

What a fabulous nine day stay at Alba Lily's.

We first had a warm welcome by Mark who picked us up at the airport and kindly brought us to the house, where we met our gracious host, Christine. What can we say about Mark and Christine? They are so kind, generous, and so dedicated to serving the people. And what can we say about that gorgeous Village House Alba Lily where you can enjoy an atmosphere of peace and quiet.

My wife and I have nearly travelled all over the world but we've never been enchanted by a lovely house like Alba Lily. You have everything you need there. The jacuzzi is so pleasant and refreshing. On the roof there's a nice terrasse where you can relax and take some sun. Just down the street there are some good restaurants and little shops that open till late in the evening. The bus system is very convenient, near the house, and the fare is cheap, 1.80 Eur.

Overall, it's been for us one the nicest if not the nicest we ever had.

A most memorable vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

The Abalily was everything I could hope for during my three week vacation. The pool was always cleaned and was a great relaxing area after a long hot day. The house is fully loaded with everything you would need. There was a nice basket full of tasty fruit, wine and cheese upon our arrival. Christine and Mark provide us with helpful information about the village and other areas to visit. The bakery has great coffee, pastries, sandwiches to get your day started or to end your evening. Not to mention, the donuts are delicious. The bus stop is located right next to the bakery making it easy to get around the island. Or Walk around the village and you'll find great shops, restaurants, wine tasting and and so much more. If need anything Christine and Mark are there to assist you. I'm very thankful to have met them.

Fabulously comfortable and beautifull house in ideal location.

  • 5 of 5

The owners are extremely generous and on hand to assist with queries. A welcome pack of fresh food, wine, and beer is provided- which was v much appreciated as we arrived at 9pm

The house is a cave so naturally cool , but the a/c was available if required ( assuring us of a good night's sleep)

The house is beautifully decorated and scrupulously clean.

Santorini can be v busy in the larger towns and we appreciated the peace and quiet of the village.

Fab house- fab weather and lovely owners

We stay in rentals quite often - and this probably the best yet

A wonderful week in Santorini

  • 5 of 5

My fiancée and I stayed at the lovely Alba Lily cave house for a week in July, and we not disappointed. I had spent a long time choosing the right place to stay, as having been to other places in Greece before, I knew I didn't want to stay in the main tourist towns. We therefore went for Alba Lily, being in a smaller, more traditional village. The property was immaculate, and had been restored brilliantly. We thought the decor was really nice, and loved that it had a plunge pool- much needed to cool down in. We also used the barbecue on a couple of evenings, and sat on the roof terrace to watch the sunset whilst we had our dinner.

Christine and Mark were very accommodating, firstly by picking us up from the airport (which was very much appreciated) but also for providing some food and wine/beer to keep us going. They even helped us with getting to the nearest supermarket to pick up some meat, salad etc.

Another important factor for us, was that we could get to local restaurants and basic shops on foot, as we didn't want to rent a car/quad bike. There are several restaurants in Megalochori, and we tried three of them. They were all very enjoyable, but Feggera was our favourite- really tasty food. There is also a bakery about 3 minutes walk away from the property.

We got the bus around the island, and managed to visit most places. The buses were easy, you just need to be brave when standing at the bus stop as it's not always easy to see where they are going, and they do tend to whizz past if you're not quick enough! Once on-board though, you buy your ticket and they are all air conditioned. Anywhere on the island was 1.80 Euro, so pretty cheap.

All in all, we had a wonderful week staying at Alba Lily, and would recommend highly.

Honeymoon at Alba Lily

  • 5 of 5

We spent 10 nights staying here for our honeymoon, and absolutely loved it. The house is beautiful inside and out and had everything we needed. We especially liked sunbathing on the roof top and cooling off in the plunge pool. The village itself is traditional and peaceful but is a good base for exploring the rest of the island. Mark and Christine were very welcoming and gave us good tips on where to go and arranged a boat trip for us. We visited a lot of the restaurants in the welcome pack and enjoyed them all.

We hope to return one day!

Chris and Amy

Megalochori is one of the most peaceful and traditional villages on the island of Santorini. The property is a short walk to the village square where there are three excellent restaurants offering Greek and international food. You can't fail to notice the large number of wine tasting places here and indeed this village is at the heart of the island's wine making industry. Many of the bigger facilities, like Boutari, are on the village's outskirts among the vineyards.
