Your vacation should be a luxurious, pampered experience! Imagine your own private vacation retreat... Your fenced yard is bordered on two sides by conservation land. Lean back on the sun-warmed deck and listen to the birds... There's not another house in sight...
Each bedroom has its own private bath and top-notch mattress, giving everyone a great night's sleep! Hair dryers and Crabtree & Evelyn soaps in every bath. The master suite also a special 'breakfast-in-bed' tray, a whirlpool tub and separate shower, walk-in closet, window seat, 32" flat screen TV plus DVR and DVD. Across the hall, the Second bedroom (great for parents wanting their little ones close by) also has a cozy window seat to curl up and read, a 32" flat screen TV, and, of course, its own full bathroom.
The downstairs bedroom is great for anyone and especially works for those who would prefer not to climb a flight of stairs to get to bed. A great room to give grandparents a little more privacy and easy accessibility. Of course it also has a flat screen TV and its own full bathroom.
What else is is there to do? Read a book in the hammock or an upstairs window seat, play games, listen to music, watch television or a movie (5 TVs, 2 DVD players). Fully stocked bookcases, varied movie selection, lots of games. Nearby there is great shopping...antiques, arts, unique/unusual gifts!
Need to check email? Bring your laptop or use our computer; you've got WIFI.
Hungry? The best seafood is only a short distance away! From fine dining to extremely casual fare, your hardest decision is which great restaurant to choose! Cooking in? Between the gourmet, fully-equipped kitchen and the outdoor grill connected to the house (no lugging propane tanks), you can whip up any meal you want!
Restful sleep... Before bed, take a dip in your own heated plunge pool, looking up at the stars! What a great vacation!
Love my home on Cape Cod AND am so happy to share it with others in the summer months! I grew up vacationing here (just like your kids!) and now am happy to call it "home." This is my 17th season renting my home...my summer guests (a.k.a. renters) have been just terrific! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to phone (508-241-4440)!
Susan Scribner purchased this house in 1994
When we were looking at houses, I had a very small geographic area that was at the top of my list. I'd vacationed over the years very close by and love this area. My house, in particular, is in (for me!) a perfect location...
• It's private without being isolated
• It's quiet!
• It's close to any kind of entertainment, shopping, dining you might want
• It's just a minute to Route 6, bypassing traffic further out coming and going!
Backing up to conservation land on two sides...knowing that there will never be houses there is an enormous benefit to our privacy.
Being the last house on the street (along with my neighbors across the street) means no traffic going by (unless someone is lost!).
I liked the house a lot (3 ½ bathrooms means happy guests!), but after doing major renovations in 1997-98, I love my house! Adding a bookcase wall and a sunroom this past year made me love it even more!
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. This being
our first trip to Cape Cod we had such a great time. The kids loved the
beach, whale watching, the Pirate boat, bike trails, drive-in movies, and
all the other little things we did in between. We look forward to
returning next year and pray you have a lovely summer.
All our best,
This was a great vacation spot. It was very quiet and private. the house was in beautiful condition and the added plus of a small pool made it perfect. Shopping was only a mile away. It was about 35 minutes to get to P-Town. There was a bay beach about 1/2 mile away tha you could walk to and the National seashore was abou 5 minutes away. We will be back nex year!
Charming classic Cape in an area that's close to almost everything. Never have we stayed in such an immaculate and well stocked rental! The outdoor deck, shower, and plunge pool were amazing. We loved spending time out there and watching the wildlife. We also passed evening time watching movies with our family in the very comfortable living room, followed by parent time with a drink while relaxing on the beautiful screened porch. Great restaurants nearby (Hole in One, Land Ho, Arnold's) and walkable to a fun exploring beach (Boat Meadow), short drive to many others that were perfect for swimming (First Encounter was our favorite). Susan was a pleasure to deal with. The week ended too soon, but we hope to return!
I can't say enough about our stay in Eastham. I can't wait to go back!
Susan has a beautiful and RELAXING property. Nicely appointed home with just about anything you need. The kids (5 and 6yr) loved to relax in the salt water plunge pool when we weren't out at the beach (which provided us some nice relaxation time on the back deck). Very private setting at the end of a neighborhood. We loved the outdoor shower - perfect for washing off all the beach sand. Walkable to the beach however it is better to get an Eastham beach pass so you can drive the beach stuff there. Susan was there to greet us and introduce us to her home - she gave us space but was very responsive when we needed her.
Absolutely perfect get away vacation. A+. Thank you Susan.
The owner's descriptive title of this property is completely accurate. We found the property extremely clean, the layout of the home encouraged use of the expansive deck which is very private, the plunge pool was something new to us but delightful, the room a/c's were very helpful and the walk to Boat Meadow beach easy. The kitchen was completely stocked with cooking/dining needs and again well planned. We brought linens/towels and the laundry facilities were accessible and efficient. The owner provided an information sheet of local restaurants, beaches, etc. The charming description reflects the home appearance and decorator's interest in fairies (which is interesting but not overbearing) Although pricey for the week, the Cape location and the property details put this property in that price range for that time period.
We just returned from a week at this house and it worked out very well. The location is excellent- right off the Orleans rotary, with easy access to the Stop & Shop grocery store, lots of restaurants in Orleans, plus easy drives to Chatham, and Eastham/Wellfleet. You can walk/bike to Boat Meadow beach, but it's pretty small and we just went down to watch sunsets. For beach days we drove a short distance to Skaket Beach in Orleans on the bay side (warmer water, very small surf, large tide with tidal pools at low tide, good skim-boarding, really great for kids), or Nauset Beach in Orleans on the ocean side. The kitchen is large and open, everything is very clean, bedrooms are comfortable, each with TV and own bathroom. Nice large deck and outdoor shower. The plunge pool is about 8x15, and at first looks small but was actually great. Our 5 and 2 year olds loved it, it kept them nice and contained, and they were always within reach of us. Great for cooling off after a morning bike ride or returning from the beach, or just relaxing and reading a book on a pool lounger. We really couldn't have asked for a better house, and to top it all off the owner Susan is super nice.
We have stayed at Susan's lovely B&B several times in the last two years. The atmosphere is so peaceful that we have decided to look for a place to live close by. Susan's is such a special place that we have added her to our own website in Texas as a special place to stay when visiting the CAPE. What can we say about a home that has a magically feel? We will return every chance we get.
Welcome to Eastham on Cape Cod, home to some of the best beaches anywhere! Want ocean surf or gentle Cape Cod bay? How about a fresh water kettle pond? We've got them all! It's a quick walk to Boat Meadow Beach, or a short bike or auto ride anywhere else!
Hop on your bike and head for the nearby bike trail. Golf, fishing, kayaking, whale watching, dune buggy tours, antiquing...it's all right here on Cape Cod!
More entertainment? Watch Cape Cod baseball, enjoy summer theater, listen to a concert, or how about an old fashioned drive-in theatre?
More? Fabulous restaurants, great shopping, a wide range of art galleries....
Other Activities: kayaking, miniature golf, shopping, movies, art galleries, wide selection of restaurants
