Situated on the 2nd floor of a 16th century building in the city center of Uzès. You enter the property through the private terrace, designed with a dining table, chairs and couch for relaxing or reading. The terrace and interior of the apartment has been entirely renovated and decorated by a local interior designer in 2014.

After walking across the terrace, you enter the apartment where you will find a flight of narrow stairs to access the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. This apartment can accommodate 2 people comfortably in a shabby chic, romantic atmosphere. There is one bedroom with a French standard queen size bed with comfortable bedding and pillows and a large armoire for storage. The bathroom, completely renovated in 2014, has a large Italian shower, lavatory with storage and toilet. The small, open kitchen is completely functional for cooking meals at home and eating on the sunny, private terrace. The apartment is air-conditioned for the hot months in summer. Unlimited wireless internet is available throughout the apartment and terrace.

There is another apartment just below La Terrasse that can be rented along with this apartment. The reference is La Tour des Rêves 1000476. They have seperate entrances, but just a few steps away.

Linens, sheets and a cleaning at the end of your stay is included.

This accommodation is located in the heart of the historical town of Uzès. The main town square, the Place aux Herbes, is only steps away and you can find restaurants, wine bars, boutiques and the weekly markets. The Tourism Office, Duché d'Uzès, Cathedral Saint-Théodorit and Jardin Medieval are just a few minutes walk from the apartment.

Private underground parking is 45€ per week.

Several tourist and historic sites to visit nearby: Duchy of Uzès, the Pont du Gard, Nîmes with its bull ring and Maison Carré, Avignon and the Popes' Palace, Arles and its arena, the Camargue and its horses, Haribo factory, the Gardon River and Ardèche canyons, the Anduze bamboo garden and its small steam train, the Haras d'Uzès famous equestrian center...A bit further is the Cevennes and its many villages, or you can visit the other side of the Rhône in Provence to see Les Baux-de-Provence, Gordes and Roussillon.

One of the most beautiful markets in the South of France takes place every Wednesday and Saturday in Uzès in the Place aux Herbes. Here you will find local products: fruits, vegetables, goat cheese, wines and local Mediterranean products, as well as soaps, pottery, linens and clothes.

During summer, you can head to the late-night markets of Uzès and the surrounding villages. There are music festivals in Pont du Gard, Blauzac (Jazz), and Uzès, among others. Local village festivals take place every weekend in the region with running of the bulls in the streets, music, food and children's activities.

For those who love gourmet cuisine and wine, you will love this area! You will be in the heart of Côtes du Rhône wine region . The well known Chateauneuf du Pape or Vacqueras are easily accessible by car for a day trip of wine tasting. The Foire aux Vins d’Uzès (wine fair), where the regions wines are showcased, takes place every year on the 2nd weekend of August,.

During winter, the Fête de la Truffe (truffle festival), occurs every 3rd weekend of January and offers fresh truffles, tastings, food and wine pairings, and a large dinner prepared by the Michelin starred chefs. It is possible to rent the house for the weekend only.

Wrong choice

Uzes is a charming town and this apartment is perfectly located, especially if you don't have a car as you can walk to the market, shops, tourist office, bus and a host of cafes and restaurants, however, the description is misleading. The terrace is on the second floor, the apartment on the third. If your luggage is larger than cabin size, do not take this apartment. Access from the street is via almost 50 steps, the last 13 of which are very steep and very narrow. The "private" terrace is overlooked by opening windows of other apartments. They can hear your conversations; you can hear their ablutions. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom very good, the seating very uncomfortable and in some cases downright dangerous. If you stay for a month, you will get a change of sheets and towels, otherwise there are no spares. For a night or two this will be fine. For any longer, look elsewhere.

Ideal location

The property is ideally situated in the lovely town of Uzes. The apartment is beautifully presented. Though small, it is comfortable and suitably equipped. We hired a car from Nimes Airport and parked it in Gide Parking in Uzes (easy to find) and quite convenient for the apartment and relatively cheap for the week - we booked the space ahead of time. Uzes is a special place at any time of the year. Great Saturday market.

We're Spoiled Now

After having spent 7-nights in this lovely, clean, bright, efficient and accurately described apartment, we have a higher standard for our accommodations and management teams.. Dominique et Christophe of Uzes Vacation Rentals are the perfect team for rental property in Uzes. From my initial booking to our greeting upon check-in, and quickest response to a minor problem, this team of professionals felt like my own personal property management team: They were responsive, professional and conscientious of our needs. The apartment had everything we needed for our comfortable stay. It's location is perfect for living like a local, exploring the village and its surrounds. We'll certainly request to stay at any of Uzes Vacation properties during our next visit.

Shabby Chic Uzes Perfection!

I apologize, as I am long overdue in writing this review, as my stay was last March for about a month. First and foremost, Dominique and Christophe, the managers of this apartment, are the perfect hostess/host for your stay in Uzes. The photos are absolutely accurate in their depiction of the property. As you can see, it is shabby chic, Uzes style, and was spotlessly cleaned and supplied, ready for my arrival.

The location could not be better, as you are in the center of Uzes and only a block away from the Place Aux Herbes where the pleasurable and endearing markets take place twice a week. After shopping the market, take a seat at one of the cafes and people watch. OK, dog watch too!

The views from the apartment windows include a horse carriage trotting along the cobblestoned streets once a day. The stone buildings scream old, making most travelers curious about their history. Boulangeries, patisseries, chocolate shops, as well as home furnishings and clothes shopping can all be had just steps away from your Uzes 'home'.

Although a car is not needed in the village of Uzes, I used it to see the neighboring countryside, as well as for day trips to places like the Camargue region and back over to my old stomping grounds of Gordes, Bonnieux, Goult, for instance. Do not hesitate to sign up for a rental with Dominique and Christophe. They are the best!
