WONDERFUL STAY

  • 5 of 5

We have been at the PICOLO BORGO ANTIQUO for the summer holidays and we were very satisfied .. the house is located in a picturesque village of Pedona just a few miles from Camaiore (6 km) where you can find excellent tuscany trattorias, typical restaurants, bars and beautiful craft shops . From the house to the sea, it takes about 15/20 minutes - 12/15 km but the road is beautiful in the summer and it was all very pleasant. The property is very large and well-kept, clean, and often in the evening we sat in the garden which is a 3-minute walking distance from the house (detached about 50 meters), we were with friends "al fresco" drinking wine chianti (Molto bono!). From Pedona you reach the most famous tuscan cities perfectly and we visited throughout Tuscany and also went to the marmor quarries of Carrara.Everything perfect!

We will be back next year!!

Urlaub inmitten eines Bergdorfes

  • 5 of 5

VERY PLEASANT VACATION

  • 2 of 5

A Very pleasant tuscan vacation...

the last september we spent a lovely two weeks stay in this charming old tuscany house, three stores of tradition in an ancient charming village on the hills near the city of Viareggio, called Pedona. From this enchanted location we easily reached the most beautiful tuscan cities of Pisa with its leaning tower, Lucca with irs incredible medieval walls and up to the wonderful Florence... Furthermore Pedona is a small old style relaxing place where you can rest surrounded by pinewoods, but with the needed facilities as a small supermarket, a juicy italian kitchen osteria and a cafe'. A really enjoying experience.

Small cottage in the hills of the old town of Pedona. Pedona is 309 meters above sea level and just a few minutes from the medieval town of Camaiore (4 km) and the beautiful beaches of Viareggio (10 km) In the summer, the town is transformed back to the medieval period with the event: 'Pedona back to the Middle Ages'. For an entire day, the streets of the small town come alive with ladies, knights, jesters, musicians, traditional craftsmen. In every corner of the country are poets, storytellers, jugglers, craftsmen at work (the mason, the spinner, the blacksmith, the washerwoman, etc.)

From Pedona you can make various interesting excursions and particularly striking: from Bargecchia (small village with its beautiful church) Corsanico (best known for its classical music festival with the monumental organ) and Camaiore. On a clear day you can see all the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. There are excursions to the most beautiful cities in Tuscany (Pisa, Lucca., Florence., Siena,San Gimignano , Volterra ).
