Lovely home, centrally located

  • 4 of 5

This home is very clean and modern, and nicely located to allow day trips to locations like Galway, New Grange, Clonmacnoise, etc. The house is perfect for 2 persons, but dinnerware is short for more than two. It is well-supplied with appliances which are pretty new. The sun room is very light and cheerful. We took the downstairs bedroom, which worked out well; the house is super private so that having to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom was not a problem. Upstairs is a three-quarter bed in it's own bedroom, a sofa bed in an open area, and a bathroom. WiFi was available through a telephone 3G mobile data hotspot, which can be a little limiting at times. Ballymore itself is pretty much all residential, with two bars, a gas station, a convenience store, and a take-out food store; thus, you will have to head out toward Athlone, Glasson, or Moate for a meal out. The house was very comfortable and met our needs. Benny was very hospitable and provided bread, jam, and milk upon our arrival. Her kindness and quick responsiveness was much appreciated!

peaceful holiday cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We had a restful weeks stay at this cottage. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cottage was very clean and the owner was there to meet us on arrival with fresh milk, bread and butter even though we were late arriving. Area was ideal as base for touring and visiting relatives. i would recommend this cottage, and we hope to return. lovely peaceful location but with everything a family needs, pubs shops and takeaway within walking distance.

Lovely comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful week at this cottage. The description and pictures are accurate. The house was immaculate and very comfortable. The owner Benny provided prompt and helpful communcation via email ; she met us at her cottage with freshly baked bread and had put fresh butter and milk in the fridge for our arrival. The beds were comfortable. It was very nice to wash and dry our laundry as needed. Location is excellent for driving to other parts of Ireland we day tripped to Galway, Dublin, Claire, Sligo and Belfast. The house is located on a quiet road and has a gorgeous horse in the backyard behind a fence. The little town where the house is located has 2 pubs and a small shop ; better shopping is about 20-30 minutes away in Mullingar. I would recommend this property highly.
