Gawhra The Holiday Home

Authentic 200 years old farmhouse, transformed into a bright & airy 3 bedroom modern accommodation, private pool area, air - conditioning, free WiFi.

The arched ceilings on the ground floor and the amazing stonework and floor tiling throughout the house, are all original features that will immediately embrace the visitors on entering the property.

The sizable and traditional inner courtyard at the entrance, has been converted into a private pool and deck area. Through which one enters into a combined living and dining/kitchen space, quaintly separated by arches.

A twin bed room and a separate family bathroom complete the ground floor. An original stone staircase leads to an arched landing area and two other bedrooms on the first floor, one twin and one double, both with ensuite facilities. The house is well equipped and furnished whilst being situated in close proximity to the village square, with its restaurants and bars, the hub and life of the local community.


Additional services:

Included in this accommodation: All beds will be prepared with the appropriate bed linen, along with extra blankets in the wardrobes should you need further layers. In addition to this, you will also be provided with Two towels per person – which will be placed on the beds ready for use.

All rooms are equipped with AC units that are available with an electronic coin system (€1 & €2 coins) installed at property with a screen to display the credit remaining, each AC unit consumes around € 2.50 per night.

Maid service is included when you book for 8 nights or more.

We will also provide all bookings with 1x dishwasher tablet and 1x washing machine tablet per night of your stay.

Flights to Malta and ferry crossing to our island of Gozo:

Land in Malta International Airport and than ferry crossing to Gozo. We can offer Car Hire and/or Direct Transfers from Airport to property after making the booking by completing our flight arrival and departure details form.

Xaghra is rich in sites of interest of history. It also boasts of unique prehistoric temples, which are the oldest standing structures in the world, and together with the burial grounds found close by, are a magnet for historians and archaeologists from all over the world. Xaghra Basilica in the main square is one of the most rich churches in Malta.
Xaghra main square is one of the most busiest squares on the island. One can find numerous restaurants, bars and cafeterias that serves good food and drinks from morning till late.
It is also within a short distance of the island's main summer resort of Marsalforn, with its excellent swimming spots, restaurants, bars, and bustling summer crowds. 

A mandatory fully refundable security deposit will be temporary held from a valid debit/credit card as follows:

€ 200 for up to 6 adults and
€ 400 from 7 adults and up for properties with private pool

This amount is needed to cover for the following:

Any damages (excluding normal tear and wear)
Any missing items from the property
Any excessive noise that can create a nuisance to neighbours.

This amount will be temporary blocked from the card provided when prompted by our automated email system, and released automatically within 3-7 days of checkout. Baron Holiday Homes have 48 hours from checkout to report any damage or missing items to guest in writing.

Please respect your neighbours during holiday with us, may we remind you that any loud noise is not permitted at any time during your stay.

Kindly note that price does not includes Malta Eco Tax, payable by all tourists, including locals from the age of 18 and over; €0.50c per person for each night spent on the Maltese Islands. Capped at a maximum of €5 per person for each continuous stay.

Nice quaint home in Xaghra
The location in Xaghra is great. The property is on a small, quiet street a short walk from the Xaghra town square (restaurants, shops, etc.). Xaghra itself is only a short drive to Victoria and beaches (nothing is far on Gozo and the house is well situated). There is plenty of parking available on the street. The property overall was nice and quaint, with lots of light throughout. The bedrooms are large and there is plenty of space throughout. The private pool is fairly small but usable and shaded in the evenings. The general upkeep / cleaning of the property could have been better (e.g., there were crumbs on the counter when we checked in), but the only major issue we noticed was that the smaller upstairs twin bedroom/bathroom seemed to have a strange smell similar to sewage (not sure if it had to do with the plumbing). We did inform property management about this but never received a response, so we ended up not using this bedroom and keeping the door shut - the rest of the house was fine and we still enjoyed the stay.
